Moreover, God promised to faithfully keep His covenant and show mercy to generation after generation of them that love him and keep his commandments (cf 6:4-9). Not only was God's love contingent upon this response of love and obedience, but also their prosperity (v13-14), good health, (v15), and military success (v 16). God promises to keep His commitments to His people for a thousand generations (Deut 7:9). He reminds them that He didn't free them because they deserved it or because they were the largest nation on earth, but because He loved them. Many people are facing hardships. You may be one of them. In fact, may be life itself has been nothing but one, May they greatly prosper in all their endeavours. long grueling hardship for you for as long as you can remember. I pray that something in this writing, and indeed, in the course of discussing the theme of the year, might NOTICES. bring some comfort for you. There is little else in life that hurts as deeply as feeling as though God is not faithful. Let's address the very MOST important issue regarding 1. Girls/Ladies Guild meet after Mattins at about 1pm on Sundays. God's faithfulness. The Hebrew word translated faithfulness means Steadfastness, firmness, fidelity. The opposite of being faithful is to be ever. Changing or wishy-washy. Faithfulness is an attribute of God. He is the definition of faithfulness in a sense. It is the nature of God to be faithful and He is. Faithfulness is therefore a characteristic of the body of Christ and one that all Christians should have and practice. Why should Christians or anyone for that matter, obey God? Why should we trust God and do what He says? The answer to these and similar questions is simply that God is faithful. Because God is faithful, we van trust Him and therefore obey Him. We are confident in the times of trouble because we known that God is faithful. The promises of God are real and his faithfulness will never fail us. We have nothing to fear as believers because the power of God is always with us. Yet those words may ring hollow when you are in a crisis situation. You may be dealing with a serious illness for which there is no cure. You may be struggling with financial difficulties and don't know where to turn. You may be suffering the pain of a broken marriage or relationship and have lost all hope for the future. Whatever the struggle, it can be hard to stand in your faith when your circumstance seems hopeless. We read in proverbs 24:10, if you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength; The truth is that those who believe in the finished work of Jesus Christ have limitless power to defect anything that comes against them. In I John 5:4, we are told that everyone born of God overcomes the world. The forces of evil cannot conquer a child of God. The devil himself knows that he is unable to harm a hair on your head, but only what God permits. And God will only allow that struggle or pain for which He has prepared in advance to bring you through to victory. Each trial we endure is permitted to help us to develop the perseverance that we need to stay strong in this life so that our faith may be proved genuine. Christ did not suffer and die to lose the battle. His death paid the price for our victory and it cannot be taken from us. It does not matter what trouble you may be experiencing, God is willing and able to bring you through it. He alone can turn a painful situation into something that will be used for good with a reward that will last forever. Here then, is the crux of the whole matter; What God is looking for are people who will be faithful to HIM! especially in the midst of their trials, like Job was. God may allow you to stay in the painful place you are in emotionally (and may be physically) until you determine within yourself to declare that God is faithful to me, and that's the beginning and the ending of the matter! GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS CONTRIBUTION CARD This will be taken on the fourth Sunday of every month according to our agreement. The proceeds are mainly for the Parish work. God bless you as you become part of this Project. FATHER S DAY SERMON Following popular demand for either audio, video or printed copies of the sermon delivered by Mrs. Gbemi Aduloju, a family has been kind enough to publish same in large quantity so that it can go round members and whoever may come in contact with it. Copies are available for interested members. We thank the family that sponsored this. The glory of God will never diminish upon them. SPIRITUAL VITAMIN FOR THE MONTH: Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life:... John 5: Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father; there is no shadow of turning with thee; thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not; as thou hast been thou forever will be. Refrain: Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; all I have needed thy hand hath provided; great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me! 2. Summer and winter and springtime and harvest, sun, moon and stars in their courses above join with all nature in manifold witness to thy great faithfulness, mercy and love. 3. Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide; strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow, blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

5 BIBLE STUDY 9.00 A.M A.M LENT 4 19 TH MARCH, Theme: Situations Calling for Healing Of The Land. Topic: Ungodly Leadership and Political Apathy Text: Prov. 28:12;29:2; I Tim. 2:1-4 Aim: i. Recognize what constitutes ungodly leadership and political apathy; ii. Hate and shun them; and iii. Aspire towards godly leadership and be willing to participate in the political process. Introduction Political leadership is currently not tidy and inviting for the righteous in our nation; the reasons are obvious. This has made many in the Church to distance themselves from politics which is branded dirty. This attitude is called apathy or indifference. But is this the best or only option for the righteous? We will find out more from this study. We will also deal with the relationship between ungodly leadership and political apathy. Study Guide 1a. Explain in your own words ungodly leadership and political apathy by Christians b. How would you discribe the present political terrain in Nigeria? c. Does political apathy contribute to ungodly leadership? Cf. Prov. 28:12;29:2. 2a. What positive changed have God s people contributed to good governance in the past: Joseph (Gen. 41:37-41; 47-49;53-57), Daniel (Dan. 2:36-49), and Mordecai (Esther 6:1,2)? b. What is the challenge of the changes for Christians today? Cf. Heb Discuss how the Church should be more positively involved in the political life of our country today, instead of her present apathy? See also I Tim. 2:1-4. Conclusion Certainly, apathy is not the best option for the Christian in the political life of his/her nation. If a Christian cannot get involved for fear of the violence and corruption-prone nature of a politics, he can at least perform his civic duties in the electoral process, speak out boldly about issues of governance, and pray for the nation and those who governs her.. Food For Thought Involved in polities to bring about godly leardership and good governance. Memory Verse - Prov. 28:12 Leader: Canon Adekunle Dina Next Week: Revd. S. 9 TODAY S MEDITATION GOD GIVE US CHRISTIAN HOMES And we have such trust through Christ toward God, not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God; who also has made us able ministers of the new covenant... 2 Corinthians 3:4-6a. Today as we celebrate the mother s day I want to join all others to celebrate our amiable and quintessential mothers in this church and all over the world. Mothering Sunday is a holiday celebrated by Catholic and Protestant Christians in some parts of Europe and African. It falls on the fourth Sunday in Lent, exactly three weeks before Easter. As we celebrate today. The theme of today is God give us Christian homes a desire that reflects that Christian home is beyond what human being can achieve. I want to say that we can only have it if we put our trust in Him absolutely as we see in our text 2 Corinthians 3:4-6a; our wisdom and marital experiences are not enough to give us the only home that has all it takes to overcome life challenges. A Christian home is the home in which Christ is honoured and the Christian life is lived each day; one which mom and dad have yielded their lives to Christ. The irony of it is that there are many Holy Solemnisation, that is Church marriage that we can also refer to as Christian marriage but a Christian home is uncommon. No wonder our nation is at the verge of losing home sanity and dignity, Christ no longer the pillar holding some Christian homes and Christian moral instruction is now optional in our schools if not absolutely eroded. Most of the homes are not a product of social media and circular musical stars are now the idol in which some homes are fashioned. Christian home is achievable only by surrendering our life absolutely to Christ not just mother s responsibility but the responsibilities of both parents with the help of God. John 5:19; as Jesus will only do what the Father does, so we ought to remain in Christ and always do what Christ will do if He is in our stead John 15:5 because we cannot have our desire without Him. What do we have to do as we pray God to give us a Christian Home? John 3:16 we have to realise that we cannot bear burden of building the home of our desire alone, we need Jesus to achieve it. I John 4:18 do not be a terror whose strength is fear based but a warrior whose strength is love based. These are the evidence of true Christian home: The Bible is loved and taught, The Master s will is sought, The beauty of the home is love and joyful song, The father is true and strong, Its free from the blight of wrong, The altar fire glows and radiates in the family, The children are led to Christ Jesus The respect of royalty flow in holiness That is the Christian home. Revd. Canon Adekunle Dina Social Welfare Service Ministry. A. Our Programmes 1.
