2 today s lectionary Joy The Season of Advent Hope Peace Joy Love Today we relight the first two candles of the Advent wreath. The candles of HOPE and PEACE. Now we light the third candle of Advent. This is the candle of JOY. As the coming of Jesus, our Savior, draws nearer, our joy builds with our anticipation of his birth. From the Book of Isaiah we read the words of our Lord: But be glad and rejoice forever in what I am creating; for I am about to create Jerusalem as a joy, and its people as a delight. -- Isaiah 65:18 The Reverend Patrick Lamar Daymond is an ordained Minister in the Presbyterian Church, USA and Senior Pastor of Memorial Presbyterian Church in Roosevelt, New York. As a widelyrespected preacher, teacher, workshop facilitator, and evangelism coach, Rev. Daymond s passion is rooted in engaging and empowering all of humanity, locally and globally, through preaching and teaching the life changing Word of God and living out the convincing and compelling gospel of Jesus Christ. A native of Winter Haven, FL, Rev. Daymond graduated from Davidson College with a BA in Political Science. He also holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div) degree from Princeton Theological Seminary, from which he garnered honors and distinctions. Currently, Rev. Daymond is a Doctor of Ministry (D.Min) candidate at Garrett Theological Seminary, where his primary research focuses on Congregational Leadership. Rev. Daymond is the husband of Antonia Michelle Daymond, Ph.D and they are proud parents of twin sons, Bryce Ellington and Benjamin Miles. Rev. Aprill Bright was born in Charlotte, NC where she matriculated through the Mecklenburg County Public School System. She received her BA of Sociology from Barber Scotia College in She is married to CH(CPT) John Jellico Bright Jr, and She is the mother of 2 sons Master William and Master John (nickname Josh) Bright. Rev. Bright and her husband are the founders of Bright Destinies Reach Out Ministry. A mission ministry to youth and young adults. She received her Master of Science in Counseling from Long Island University in May CH Bright attended the Chaplains Basic Course and received her commission into the United States Army in January She and her husband are faithful members of First Baptist Church of Keysville, Inc., where Rev. Garry Kerr is the Senior Pastor.

5 litany of praise All: Today we celebrate the 117th Anniversary of C.N. Jenkins Memorial Presbyterian Church. O LORD, are thy wonderful works. For 117 years, God s word has been proclaimed in this place. O LORD, are thy wonderful works. Many lives have been inspired and shaped for the future in this place. Countless children, parents, and grandparents have been and still are a part of this church. Countless prayers of supplication, thanksgiving, and praise have been offered. Countless witnesses have gone out from C.N. Jenkins to spread the gospel in the community and throughout the world. We offer all of our activities, our sacraments, and doxologies in praise to God. O LORD are thy wonderful works. With thanksgiving for the past, joy in the present, and shaping for the future, we celebrate. O LORD are thy wonderful works.
