James 1:17 Stewardship Sunday Ministry Spotlight: Mission & Outreach Mission & Outreach of Saint Michael and All Angels (SMAA) is a priority for our community. As Christians we are called to serve. The people of Saint Michael work with their hands and hearts to give hope, touch lives, and strengthen the spiritual lives of others at home and abroad. Mission & Outreach of SMAA makes a financial impact with partner agencies and internal outreach ministries on an annual basis through the awarding of grants. In 2017, $145,000 was awarded to twelve covenant agencies for the 2018 year. Join us in 2019 as we work to deepen the relationships with our partner organizations and welcome new ones! With your consideration of a significant investment in 2019, the work that we do in our community will strengthen the bonds of hope and help that we create. 8 UPCOMING OPPORTUNITIES HONDURAS MISSION TRIP FEB Leaving on February 10 and returning on February 17, this trip to Honduras promises to be engaging and Spirit-filled. We will continue our ministry of providing fluoride treatments to children, reading glasses to adults, and Christian Education to children in and around Tela, Honduras. We will also work with the community to identify a construction project in one of the barrios surrounding Tela, Honduras. ORGANIZING FOR HEAVEN NOV. 4, 11, 18 November 4, 11, a.m. Parlor We all know how important it is to plan. We plan our weddings and our education, we plan for children, and our retirement. However, it is true that sometimes we neglect to attend to the details of that time when our health will decline and finally we go into everlasting life with our Lord. There are many reasons why we do not make time to plan for the end of our life: we don t believe death will catch us unawares, the planning information can be confusing, etc. The gatherings will be November 4, 11, and 18 as Pastoral Care will host a program named Organizing for Heaven. In it, we will gather experts in the fields of legal issues, planned giving, hospice, funeral planning, and our columbarium. In these sessions, we will discuss the fundamentals of living the last few years of life in dignity. Please join us - you are welcome.
