Isaiah 56:1 STEWARDSHIP In today s second reading, St. Paul tells the Romans, God s gifts and his call are irrevocable. To what is God calling me today? What gifts are mine to share? Please keep students of all ages in your thoughts and prayers as they begin and continue their educational journeys. And, of course, say a prayer for all teachers, professors, principals and other educational faculty and give thanks for the wonderful and difficult work that they do. The Diocese of St. Augustine will once again be supporting the 40 Days for Life Campaign, September 27 th - November 5 th. Our community will be uniting with hundreds of other cities for this international campaign of prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil at two abortion facilities. The focus of 40 Days for Life is to pray for an end to abortion: we pray for the parents, we pray for the children, and we pray for the workers. There are two locations in our diocese where this prayer campaign will take place: Jacksonville: A Woman's Choice (4131 University Blvd. S.). 3 Education News... Youth Corner RELIGIOUS EDUCATION CLASSES START SOON!! Leigh will speak about how this new and exciting app will be an integral part in the way in which we will now communicate with the parents of our youth and the "teens and tweens" themselves! Leigh will be on hand demonstrating how to download the app and explain how easy it is to use! She will walk around and help each parent so that you will receive "one on one" instructions! 4 In Our Parish... ANNUAL YARD SALE Our annual Yard Sale at our Green Cove Springs location, will be held Saturday, September 23 rd from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm. Study Group Starting Up Again New 10 Session DVD Series Divine Mercy in the Second Greatest Story Ever Told A film journey that combines history, Scripture, prophecy and personal sacrifice to show God s merciful desire for us all, and His calling to the hearts of all who will embrace it. Call Anne Borom for more information at CAST - Catholic Adult Bible Study Now is the time to register for Revelation: The Kingdom Yet to Come, that begins September 19 th! CAST meets the 1 st and 3 rd Tuesday of each month from 6-8 pm in the Activity Center. Registration is required and forms can be found on the table as you enter Sullivan Hall. Marriage Preparation Marriage Preparation: To schedule a wedding, an engaged couple must meet with their parish priest or deacon at least eight months before their proposed wedding date. Preparation for the sacrament includes attending a diocesan program such as Engaged Encounter or Pre Cana. Also, couples of childbearing age will need to take a full course of Natural Family Planning. Pre-registration for each of these programs is mandatory. The next Engaged Encounter will be October 20 th -22 nd at Marywood Retreat Center. The next Pre Cana program will be September 9 th in Jacksonville. National Alliance for Mental Illness NAMI Family To Family Education class is a free 12 week course for families and friends of individuals with brain disorders called mental illness. Course materials cover the major mental illnesses, problem solving workshops, communications skills, self-care workshop, empathy, rehabilitation and advocacy.
