For you? For your family? For this church? Dreaming is easy if we are just content to dream and wait. Dreaming with a heart for listening for, and responding to, the voice of the Shepherd is disciplined work. That s why the first followers of Jesus and his followers today are called disciples. We re nearly 2/3 of the way through our Long Range Plan covering Our Church Council meets on May 20 th. While committees are not scheduled to report on Long Range Plan progress at this meeting, they regularly revisit the plan at meetings. It will surprise us how fast the end of 2018 will be here and, with it, the need for a new vision and plan. So now is not too early, individually and informally, to be thinking, talking and sharing your vision for the church with and among its leadership. We have accomplished much in my nearly five years of ministry here. Wonderful new challenges lie ahead. Let s, together, be barking pigs and not Cinderellas. For the meaning of that, stay tuned for today s sermon. Sincerely yours in Christ, Rev. Dr. Brian R. Bodt Pastor

Thank you for all the many items already received. The last day of donations is May 24 so the earlier, the better! STAINED GLASS WINDOWS UPDATE: The restoration of the sanctuary stained glass windows is still proceeding; however, the company restoring the windows has run into a significant amount of cracked glass which was caused by previous attempts to repair the windows. Those pieces that can be glued will be repaired to museum specifications and standards. However, there is a significant amount of glass which is beyond repair and they are unable to match the current glass colors available to the class color in our windows as the manufacturing process has changed in the last 100 years. They have found a very close match and the Trustees approved the use of this glass on Sunday, April 30 th. The color glass approved is not readily available and the lead time is between 4 to 8 weeks to manufacture this glass. This issue will delay the return of our windows to 2 to 3 months shifting the return of the windows to early September. If you have any questions about the windows restoration project, please contact Chris Paton, Trustee President, and project manager at
