4 CALL TO WORSHIP In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirt. Amen. Before God and in the company of our sisters and brothers, let us confess our sin. Silence is kept for reflection. God and Father of all, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed. We have thought better of ourselves than others. We have told lies, said hurtful things, acted in ways we wish we could take back, and looked the other way when action was needed. In your mercy, O God, forgive us, cleanse us, and heal us, for the sake of Jesus, our Savior. Amen. CCLI License No RECEPTION OF PRAYER REQUESTS SCRIPTURE READING 2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1 Life in the present is transitory and cannot compare with the eternal home God has prepared for us. So we do not despair no matter what life might bring because we know that as God raised Jesus from the dead, God promises to bring us into eternal life. But just as we have the same spirit of faith that is in accordance with scripture "I believed, and so I spoke" we also believe, and so we speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus, and will bring us with you into his presence. Yes, everything is for your sake, so that grace, as it extends to more and more people, may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day. For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure, because we look not at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen; for what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal. For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. MESSAGE FOR THE DAY

OFFERING PRAYER God of mercy and grace, the eyes of all wait upon you, and you open your hand in blessing. Fill us with good things at your table, that we may come to the help of all in need, through Jesus Christ, our redeemer and Lord. Amen. HOLY COMMUNION The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give God thanks and praise.

8 It is indeed right, our duty and our joy, that we should at all times and in all places give thanks and praise to you, almighty and merciful God, through our Savior Jesus Christ; who on this day overcame death and the grave, and by his glorious resurrection opened to us the way of everlasting life. And so, with all the choirs of angels, with the church on earth and the hosts of heaven, we praise your name and join their unending hymn: In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.

9 Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen Jesus said, "Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty." As you come forward receive the bread from the Pastor and then dip it in the cup held by the Communion Assistant. Then partake of the elements together. You may return to your place by using the side aisle. The Praise Band will be singing during distribution. You are welcome to sing along.

10 PRAYER AND BLESSING Generous God, we thank you that at Wisdom's holy table you have fed us again with her bread and wine, the food of everlasting life. Send us, your servants, into all the land, that we may act wisely,seek the good of our neighbor, and call others to come to the feast; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen. Almighty and merciful God, Father, + Son, and Holy Spirit, bless, preserve, and keep you this day and forevermore. Amen. Each month volunteers, mostly from our area Lutheran churches, package and deliver more than 400 boxes of staple food to individual/families identified and screened by various county agencies. If you desire to make a monetary donation, please mark your envelope for Special Appeal or use the white envelope in the pew rack and mark it Special Appeal. ************ VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL We are in need of snack helpers for VBS. Please sign the sheet on the board in the narthex if you can help. Vacation Bible School will be held on Thursday, July 26 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. Friday, July 27 from 6:00 to 7:45 p.m. Saturday, July 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Registration forms are on the table in the Fellowship Room and in the church office. Complete and return to Lorena Davis or the church office. ************ THE HARVEST COMMITTEE will be making ice cream on Saturday, June 30 th, at the home of Dick and Joan Hall, Grant Shook Road beginning at 8:00 a.m. The committee would appreciate all the help they can get. There will be a picnic lunch for those helping. The Greencastle Sidewalk Sales will be held on Friday, July 13 th from 8:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday, July 14 th from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you are available to help, please let Joan Hall or Donna Wolfe know. You will be receiving a call asking for donations of baked goods for Friday only as well as help to dip ice cream and selling the baked goods on the days of the sale. ************ PAIRS AND SPARES - On July 15 th, Pairs and Spares will be attending the Totem Pole Playhouse to see the comedy RED, WHITE and TUNA. This is a Sunday 3:00 show. Cost will be $20.00 per person. Plans are being made to go out to dinner afterward. 12 THE AUXILIARY TO THE CHAMBERSBURG CENTER FOR LSS OF SOUTH CENTRAL PA is conducting their membership drive. This is open to all men, women and children. Fill out the envelope in the bulletin and return to Evelyn Pensinger. CHAMBERSBURG CONFERENCE NEWS WIDOW TO WIDOW LUNCH GROUP This on-going support group will meet the 2nd Tuesday each month to provide an opportunity for widows to share and learn about grief and the journey it brings. Each month will feature a topic related to healing our grief. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at Bonanza Restaurant at the Chambersburg Mall. Each person is responsible for the cost of their meal. The meeting will be held in the private dining area of the restaurant. For more information contact Kim McCurdy at CHURCH DAY BUFFET Members of our congregation and their friends are invited to the Church Day Buffet at the Fleck Center at Luther Ridge on Wednesday, June 13 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM. The menu for June is Tossed Salad, Lasagna, Italian Vegetables, Bread Sticks, Dessert and Beverage. Cost for the buffet is $6.50 per person. To reserve your place, please call LUTHER RIDGE WELLNESS TALK -- Summer Safety Lutheran Home Care & Hospice will give a Health & Wellness talk on Thursday, June 21 at 10:00 a.m. at The Fleck Center at Luther Ridge Retirement Community, Chambersburg. The program is free of charge and open to anyone in the community. No registration is required. The topic for June is Summer Safety. Before launching headlong into summer, prepare yourself for the sun and the heat with these common sense health tips. The Franklin-Fulton Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will host a picnic on Friday, June 29, 2012, 6 pm at Norlo Park, 3050 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville, PA. All Franklin-Fulton County Thrivent members and their spouse/guest are invited. This is a catered meal so please respond by June 20 th if you plan to attend by contacting Jodi Eiker at The Brown Bag Program volunteers will be our special guests that evening.
