In order to participate in this celebration, parents must register at the Rectory Office for our pre-baptism program. SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE: Couples planning to marry should contact the Rectory Office before visiting a reception hall. The preparation process is nine months before your proposed wedding date. Call the Rectory Office for further information. SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION: Children in the seventh and eight grades are prepared to celebrate this Sacrament through the Religious Education Program. Adults prepare for this Sacrament through the RCIA process. Call the Rectory Office for further information. SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION (Confession/Penance): Available Tuesday morning following Novena, Friday morning immediately after the 8:00am Mass and Saturdays from 4:00pm - 4:45pm and any time at the Rectory by appointment with a priest. SACRAMENT OF THE ANOINTING OF THE SICK: In the case of serious, unexpected illness, please contact the Rectory Office to arrange for a priest to pray with the ill person. For those about to enter the hospital, anointing of the Sick is held on the first Saturday of the month following the 8:30am Mass. SACRAMENT OF HOLY ORDERS: Anyone interested in exploring the vocation to the priesthood or the diaconate should call the Rectory Office. Church September 9, 2018 Page Five St. Vincent de Paul Society - Outreach Office Next Food Pantry: September 15 th 8:30AM-10:30AM In today s Gospel we hear how Jesus makes the deaf hear and the mute speak! In living the gospel, we must open our ears to hear and recognize all the everyday opportunities for making God s presence known especially to those who are poor and suffering. On September 9, the Church also celebrates the feast of Blessed Frederic Ozanam, the founder of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Frederic heard the call of Jesus to love and serve those who are suffering. Is there a family you know who needs assistance? Please call the Society of St. Vincent de Paul so that together we can make God s presence known to those who are suffering and poor? The student must attend with at least one parent. Fr. Rene will talk to the families and then we will go over every single requirement that must be met before the student can be confirmed. The Bishop actually picks the date of Confirmation from a list of 3 choices that we will provide to his office soon. We should be notified of the date and the celebrant before Christmas. It will be a very busy but exciting year for the Confirmandi and their families. Our Wednesday students will have their OPENING DAY this week on September 12 th from 4:30-5:30PM. We will have a Welcome Assembly in the gym as part of the hour's plan. Families have received a mailing with room numbers as follows: Kindergarten, Room 212 1st Grade, Room 210 5th Grade, Room 206 2nd Grade, Room 211 6th Grade, Room 205 3rd Grade, Room 209 7th Grade, Room 204 4th Grade, Room 207 8th Grade, Room 203 Some children are in a DIFFERENT grade in Religion than they are in Public School. A class list is taped to the door of every room and there are class moms around to assist those looking for their room. Next we will all come together in prayer (grades K through 8) as we celebrate the 5PM Mass. What a wonderful way to start the year as a parish family!! Welcome back to all and Welcome to all of our new families. We will be glad to see you again. Remember: Tuesday students will have their OPENING DAY on September 18 th. And for all our FAITHFUL DEPARTED. When the circumstances change for someone listed above or they return to better health, a family member or friend should notify the Rectory. Last week we had an abbreviated day (8AM-1PM) so the little ones could get used to it. Still a few tears but... we always overcome them and we will again this year!!
