We also salute and thank, for his many years of service, Head Usher Sam Manu, who leads his usher team for the last time today. Participating in Today s Service Welcome today to Kevin Steiner, the first lay preacher in this summer s series. Kevin and his wife Laura have been attending FHC since Coming from a Mennonite background, Kevin has found this community to be inspiring and challenging and has grown through involvement in Bibles and Bagels, Faith Leader, and the church softball team. A perpetual graduate student at Case, you may recognize him as that guy in the yellow helmet, pondering Good News as he pedals his bike around northeast Ohio. Guest music director Craig McGaughey is leading the music this Sunday as Anne Wilson is teaching at the Presbyterian Association of Musicians Music and Worship Conferences at the Montreat Conference Center near Asheville, North Carolina. Craig is the choral director at Heights High and also conducts the Catch the Spirit Chorale, a community group which sings in many different churches and concert venues. Softball Team A swept a double header from First Baptist last week, winning 9-5 and 4-0. John Obery had 6 hits and Matt Winters had five to lead the team. Team B lost to Fairmount Presbyterian 6-2 and 11-7, rallying from 7-0 in the second game despite only having 9 players. Kevin Ball had 5 hits to lead them. Today: 3:00 Team B vs Central Bible Baptist Church at Monticello MS 6:00 Team A vs Church of the Saviour A at Forest Hill Park THIS WEEK Bible and Bagels Bible and Bagels will meet Wednesdays from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. in the Jin Room. All are welcome! The lesson this week is Mark 6: Yoga Class Yoga classes meet Wednesdays through Aug. 5 6:00-7:00 p.m. $10 per class; drop-ins and beginners are welcome! NEXT SUNDAY Summer Adult Education Our summer Adult Education classes will meet at 9:00 a.m. in South Hall. We will study and discuss the biblical text that will be preached that day in worship. 4 LOOKING AHEAD Social Groups and Circles The Group (Singles and couples, ish) Join us on July 11 to hear the Cleveland Orchestra at Blossom performing Liszt's Mephisto Waltz, Mussorgsky/Ravel's Pictures at an Exhibition, and Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No.2. Bring a picnic supper to eat on the lawn at 6:30 p.m.; concert starts at 8p.m. Tickets are $13, good for the lawn OR the new General Admission area of the Pavilion (on a first-come, first-serve basis). Hired first to support the ministry of Matt Peterson, Marge has worked with and for five pastors, four youth directors and two directors of children's ministry. Marge has worked in the nursery for the past four years and has become a beloved figure for many children and their parents. We will miss her. As a way to say thank you and good bye I invite you to write an letter of appreciation ( mjkarecher@aol.com ) or send a card to her house (2560 Ashurst Rd.
