Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace. SHARING OF THE PEACE The peace of the Lord be with you always And also with you (Please share the Peace of the Lord with those around you, especially with any worshippers you may not know.) CALL TO WORSHIP Let us give thanks to the Lord with our whole hearts, bowing down to sing God s praise. Let us give thanks to God s name for steadfast love and faithfulness. We have called, and God has answered, increasing the strength of our souls. Let all of us sing the ways of the Lord who is great in glory. Though God is high above all, God looks with care upon the lowly. God s outstretched hand will save us and complete God s purpose for us. God s steadfast love endures forever. PRAYER OF THE DAY (in unison) L: Let us pray. With thankful hearts for the bounties of our lives we come, O God, to offer our prayers and praise. As we gather this week keep us mindful of all the blessings in our lives and those we share our lives with. 2 MESSAGE Pastor Jill Vivroux We Respond to God s Grace SONG OF THE DAY The Church s One Foundation (LBW #369) 1) The Church s one foundation is Jesus Christ, her Lord; She is His new creation, by water and the Word. From heav n He came and sought her to be His holy bride; With His own blood He bought her and for her life He died. 2) Elect from every nation, yet one o er all the earth; Her charter of salvation: One Lord, one faith, one birth. One holy name she blesses, partakes one holy food, And to one hope she presses with ev ry grace endued. 3) Though with a scornful wonder this world sees her oppressed, By schisms rent asunder, by heresies distressed, Yet saints their watch are keeping; their cry goes up: How long? And soon the night of weeping shall be the morn of song. 4) Through toil and tribulation and tumult of her war, She waits the consummation of peace forevermore; Till with the vision glorious her longing eyes are blest, And the great Church victorious shall be the Church at rest. 5) Yet she on earth has union with God, the Three in One. AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (in unison) I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen DISTRIBUTION OF HOLY COMMUNION (All who believe that Christ died for their sins are welcome at the Table of Grace.
