For He is good, He is above all things; His love endures forever. Sing praise sing praise. With a mighty hand, and outstretched arm; His love endures forever. For the life that s been reborn; His love endures forever. Sing praise sing praise. (Refrain) Sing praise, sing praise. Forever God is faithful, forever God is strong, Forever God is with us, forever forever. From the rising to the setting sun, His love endures forever. And by the grace of God, we will carry on; His love endures forever. Sing praise sing praise. (Refrain 2x) INVOATION In the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. EXHORTATION Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. If You, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? But with You there is forgiveness; therefore You are feared. 1
Since we are gathered to hear God s Word, call upon Him in prayer and praise, and receive the gifts of our Lord Jesus hrist through Word and Sacrament, let us first consider our unworthiness and confess before God and one another that we have sinned in thought, word, and deed, and that we cannot free ourselves from our sinful condition. Together as His people let us take refuge in the infinite mercy of God, our heavenly Father, seeking His grace for the sake of hrist, and saying: God, be merciful to me, a sinner. ONFESSION and ABSOLUTION Almighty God, have mercy upon us, forgive us our sins, and lead us to everlasting life. Amen. Almighty God in His mercy has given His Son to die for you and for His sake forgives you all your sins. As a called and ordained servant of hrist, and by His authority, I therefore forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the T Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. T WORD T INTROIT s 28:1-2, 6-7 (antiphon: 28:8) The LORD is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed. To you, O LORD, I call; my rock, be not deaf to me, lest, if you be silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit. Hear the voice of my pleas for mercy, when I cry to you for help, when I lift up my hands toward your most holy sanctuary. Blessed be the LORD! For he has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy. The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen. The LORD is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed. SONG OF RAISE 10,000 Reasons (Matt Redman and Jonas Myrin) (refrain) Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul. Worship His holy name. Sing like never before, O my soul. I ll worship Your holy name. The sun comes up, it s a new day dawning. It s time to sing Your song again. Whatever may pass and whatever lies before me let me be singing when the evening comes. (refrain) 2
You re rich in love and You re slow to anger. Your name is great and Your heart is kind. For all Your goodness I will keep on singing ten thousand reasons for my heart to find. (refrain) And on that day when my strength is failing, the end draws near and my time has come, Still my soul will sing Your praise unending, ten thousand years and then forevermore. Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul. Worship His holy name. Sing like never before, O my soul. I ll worship Your holy name, Worship Your holy name. God, I ll worship Your holy name. Sing like never before, O my soul, I ll worship Your holy name. I ll worship Your holy name. God, I ll worship Your holy name. SALUTATION and OLLET OF THE DAY The Lord be with you. And also with you. (lease stand) RAYERS OF THE HURH In peace, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy. For all the servants of the Word, that through their preaching and teaching, the healing waters of the Gospel may flow through the wilderness of this world, quenching thirst with the gift of 5
the Spirit, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy. For the gift of teachers, that God would raise up those who speak to the anxious of heart: Be strong; fear not! Your God will come and save you, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy. For our ongress, our president, our justices and all in authority in our land, that God would grant them wisdom, courage, civility and honor as they carry out their difficult responsibilities, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy. For all who suffer oppression from the evil one, for all who struggle under sickness or loneliness or grief, for all whom we have been asked to remember, especially, that hrist would grant them deliverance and healing according to His gracious will, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy. For the faithful departed, let us offer our praise and thanksgiving, and ask for grace to join them in glorifying hrist forever, let us pray to the Lord: Lord, have mercy. Into Your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in Your mercy, through Jesus hrist, our Lord. Amen. LORD S RAYER Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever and ever. Amen. The 8:20 am service continues on page 10 with the Benedicamus and Benediction. IN REGARD TO HOLY OMMUNION: According to Scripture, Holy ommunion should be celebrated by those who are: United in a common faith (1 or. 10:16-17, 21-22; Rom. 16:17); Repentant of sins (1 or. 5:11, Matt. 18:17-18); Able to examine their lives (1 or. 11:27-29); and believe that in this precious meal they receive the true body and blood of Jesus given and shed for the forgiveness of their sins (Luke 22:19-22). Since Scripture teaches that those people who do not fully understand the 6
meaning of this meal eat and drink to their own harm (1or. 11:27-29), and because the Lord s Supper is the supreme act of stating our unity in faith and doctrine, we would ask those people who are visiting with us to please speak with our pastors, before communing, in order that we might fulfill our responsibility of properly instructing people in the right use of the precious Sacrament. T SERVIE OF THE SARAMENT T 11:00 am Service REFAE The Lord be with you. And also with you. Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give Him thanks and praise. It is truly good, right, and salutary that we should at all times and in all places give thanks to You, O Lord, holy Father, almighty and everlasting God, for the countless blessings You so freely bestow on us and all creation. Above all, we give thanks for Your boundless love shown to us when You sent Your only-begotten Son, Jesus hrist, into our flesh and laid on Him our sin, giving Him into death that we might not die eternally. Because He is now risen from the dead and lives and reigns to all eternity, all who believe in Him will overcome sin and death and will rise again to new life. Therefore, with angels and archangels and with all the company of heaven we laud and magnify Your glorious name, evermore praising You and saying: SANTUS 7
RAYER OF THANKSGIVING In Your righteous judgment You condemned the sin of Adam and Eve, who ate the forbidden fruit, and You justly barred them and all their children from the tree of life. Yet, in Your great mercy, You promised salvation by a second Adam, Your Son, Jesus hrist, our Lord, and made His cross a life-giving tree for all who trust in Him. We give You thanks for the redemption You have prepared for us through Jesus hrist. Grant us Your Holy Spirit that we may faithfully eat and drink of the fruits of His cross and receive the blessings of forgiveness, life, and salvation that come to us in His body and blood. Amen. WORDS OF OUR LORD Matt 26:26 28; Mk 14:22 24; Lk 22:19 20; 1 or 11:23 25 AX DOMINI The peace of the Lord be with you always. And also with you. AGNUS DEI 8
