LITTLE FLOWER NEWS Bring Communion to Others Each week, parishioners bring Communion to over a hundred people who are unable to attend Sunday Masses. Our Eucharistic Visitors say that the friendships they form, although a little uncomfortable at first, allow them to gain so much from the relationships. The parish has individuals and nursing homes that need Communion brought to them. This is a flexible volunteer opportunity, which may work with your schedule. Our Eucharistic visitors must be mandated Eucharistic Ministers. If you are interested in helping, have questions, or would like to be trained and mandated, please contact Margaret Manning in the rectory or pastoral110.lf@gmail.com Days of Reflection for Ministries Our days of reflection continue for all those involved in our ministries as an opportunity to come together to pray and to discover how your ministry is a blessing to you. Each session will focus on a particular type of ministry, but anyone is welcome to any of the sessions. Margaret Manning will lead prayers, provide a brief presentation and allow time for small group and large group conversations within a casual, relaxed atmosphere. All sessions are held in the cafeteria with light refreshments. Please RSVP to Margaret Manning or contact her with any questions: pastoral110.lf@gmail.com Saturday, Feb. 11 th 9:30am-12:00pm Education/teaching ministries Sunday, March 26 th 1:00pm-3:30pm Prayer/devotion/support group ministries

4 Presentation by Dorothy Day s Co-Worker-- 7:30 pm on February 6 th Faith Lutheran Church in New Providence By any measure, Dorothy Day lived a fascinating life. She was a journalist, activist, single mother, convert, Catholic laywoman, and co-founder of the Catholic Worker Movement. Taking the gospels to heart, Dorothy Day lived among the poor, challenging both church and state to build a better world for all people. Steeped in prayer, the liturgy, and the spiritual life, she was jailed repeatedly for protesting poverty, injustice, and war. Through it all, she created a sense of community and remained down-to-earth and humanly approachable. To have known Dorothy Day was to have experienced not only her charm and humanity, but the purposefulness of her life. Patrick Jordan, who knew her personally, will discuss some of the hallmarks of Day's fascinating life and the spirit her adventure inspires. Patrick Jordan is a former managing editor of The Catholic Worker. He and his wife Kathleen were associated with Dorothy Day from 1968 until her death in From 1984 until 2012, Jordan was an editor at Commonweal magazine. He serves on the advisory board of the Dorothy Day Guild. We look forward to seeing you on February 6 th.
