2 ST. ANTHONY PARISH 409 W. COLUMBIA, BELLEVILLE, MI PASTOR LETTER Dear Parishioners of St. Anthony Parish, 2015 already?! And here we are with the fourth edition of the Parish Guidebook and Directory. Pope Francis is in office for two years. The parish is now established since its mission days in We pray for many more years for Pope Francis and for St. Anthony Church, the local presence of the Body of Christ. As the Vatican Council II document has it, this body of Christ shares the joys, hopes, and sorrows of the world and brings to it the dying and rising of Christ Jesus. Sometimes as a parish we may feel there are too many dying moments. At other times we are filled with joy at the faith and works we share. We evangelize, or share, the good news in many ways. I especially want to invite you to share in our parish experience, Christ Life, for seven sessions this year. If you do, you will feel fresh appreciation and enthusiasm for faith as well as greater confidence in forming a deeper friendship with Christ and following him more than ever. You will also ensure the promise of many more years for St. Anthony Parish in Belleville. Blessings on all of you and on our generous advertisers, too. Sincerely yours in Christ, Thomas H. Cusic PARISH MISSION STATEMENT We the Faith Community of St. Anthony Parish, Belleville, open to the Spirit as disciples of Jesus Christ, envision our mission as Proclaiming, Witnessing, and Celebrating the Kingdom of God among us Through Service, Healing, and Reconciling Love. ST. ANTHONY ZEALOUS FOR JUSTICE Dear St.Anthony, you were prompt to fulfill all justice. You gave God and His Creation the service he required from you. You respected other people s rights and treated them with kindness and understanding. Teach me the beauty of this virtue and make me prompt to fulfill all justice toward God and all creation. Please help me also in my pressing needs. Amen 2

3 ST. ANTHONY PARISH PARISH ACTIVITIES DIRECTORY 2015 GROUPS MAKING A DIFFERENCE ALL ARE WELCOME HERE CHRIST LIFE MINISTRY PRAYER Loving God, you called us each by name and gave your only Son to redeem us. In your faithfulness you sent the Holy Spirit to complete the mission of Jesus among us. Open our hearts to Jesus. Give us the courage to speak his name to those who are close to us and the generosity to share his love with those who are far away. We pray that every person throughout the world be invited to know and love Jesus as Savior and Redeemer. May they come to know his all-surpassing love. May that love transform every element of our society. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord. Amen 3
