2 welcome! We re glad you re here today. We re a group of people learning what it means to be followers of Jesus. This is a place where everyone is welcome, nobody s perfect, and anything is possible. We welcome and encourage you to share your life with us as we journey in faith together. What can you expect on a Sunday morning? Our worship services aim to be about 70 minutes long, with a mix of praise singing & prayer, and a time of inspiration and learning through the teaching that explores scripture, and issues of everyday life. We believe that by working together, sharing our faith and our lives, we can accomplish much more than we could individually. With God s help and the power of the Holy Spirit, we believe we can transform our community and our world as the hands and feet of Jesus on earth. If you re ready for us to get to know you, please fill out a Connect card from the pew and bring it to the Connection Point in the foyer after the service. Deadline for submission is Sept 18, Handicapped Parking Spaces on Sunday Morning Please be reminded that members of our community with limited mobility greatly benefit from the handicapped parking spaces on Sunday mornings. We recognize that parking space can be limited, but please only use these spaces if you have a city permit/window sticker for Accessible/handicapped parking. Thank you for your kind cooperation.

3 Outreach Cell Phones for Sierra Leone Do you have a cell phone that you put away after your contract expired? If it is in good working order, it would be a huge gift to someone in Sierra Leone. Ebbe, a friend of Wellington Square, is travelling to Africa in September and our donated cell phones will make life a little easier for the recipients, many of whom will be older students from Wellington Orphanage, now attending university or college. If you are able to help, please delete any passwords and all other information on your phone. If possible, having the phone unlocked and adding a note that this has been done, would be very helpful. There will be a collection box located by the Connection table on Sundays, and in the office during the week, until September 15th. Once the phone is unlocked, it will work with an Africell sim card. Friday Community Every week we have folks from various churches, organizations, and places in the community who come to put together all that is entailed to serve a meal to approximately 250 people. We have a group of dedicated gentlemen who began coming to enjoy a meal many years ago, and now come in each week to set up the dining room, pick up and unload the food donations and purchases, and help in any way needed. They are an important part of the team and appreciate feeling valued for the gifts that they share. We all have something to offer to one another and are blessed that Robin, Doug, Creighton and Samuel have chosen to be part of the Friday Night Community team. Most needed items: *snacks for children's lunches (fruit cups, pudding, cookies & crackers, apple sauce) *plastic spoons for children's lunch bags *boy twin bedding & bedroom decorations *girls' & boys shoe sizes 11-4 *men's running shoes size 7-14 (& wide) *women's running & casual shoes size 9-11 *men's t-shirts sizes large and up *men's track pants sizes 3x, 4x and 5x *school supplies & new lunch bags *yogurt and sour cream sized containers *diapers and pull-ups size 4-6 *desserts for Friday meals (nut free) *salad bar toppings (pickles, olives, sunflower seeds, salad dressings, etc.) For information contact: fnc@wsquare.ca

Small Groups If you would like to start a small group or have an idea for a small group, please contact Joy. jmagwood@wsquare.ca Experiencing God's Presence This study is based on the Jesus Calling book written by Sarah Young and offers you a chance to lay down your cares, enter God's Presence and hear Him speak through His Word. In this 8 week study you will learn how to better make space in your life for the Spirit of God to speak through the Word of God and the people of God. Wednesday's - starting Sept 21 until Nov 9, from 7-9 p.m in the McMillan Room. Please bring pen and either a journal or paper. 5 Children/Family Ministry GraceLand provides a FUN, SAFE and FRIENDLY place where we learn about God's love and how to shine His light everyday. Nursery to Grade 8. 9am. Faith at Home Parent sheets are available every Sunday for pick-up in GraceLand. This is a good resource to help families strengthen their faith by engaging in weekly scripture readings, life application summaries and activities together. Summer GraceLand Theme: Big Bad Bible Bullies! Our Big Bad Bible Bully summer series will help encourage your child to handle tough situations when facing various bullying challenges. Kids will learn confidence and comfort in biblical stories and Godly principles. Child/youth Participant Forms for 2016/17 will be mailed out in August for families to fill out, complete and return to us by September 15, These forms support our Plan 2 Protect procedures that provide safety for all. I m thrilled to be your new youth ministry director. I have been blessed to work with young people in a variety of church, camp, community, and campus settings over the years and I am looking forward to getting to know the youth (and the whole people of God) at Wellington Square and being part of what God is doing in this remarkable congregation.
