We thank Gina for her many contributions to the Parish. She will be helping us during the transition period. Are you interested in helping our parish more effectively communicate with our parishioners so they can worship, grow in their faith, and serve our parish in ministries and programs? If so, consider applying for the position of Parish Communications Coordinator, a position that will use your skills to coordinate all communications to parishioners via the bulletin, website, Flocknote, MyParishApp, newsletters, and other social media. You can also help promote a unified message through communicating and marketing of liturgical, sacramental events, and parish social events, maintaining the parish calendar of events, and helping ministries effectively communicate their message to our parishioners. Key Skills and Qualifications: Strong computer skills, with an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and products, including PowerPoint. Experience with Publisher a plus. Proven ability to learn and support technology-based systems, ability to work with a help desk to resolve software issues. Ability to utilize technology as a tool to evangelize and communicate with parishioners, and to teach others how to do the same. Exceptional writing skills, good verbal and people skills, operates with integrity, collaborates with others. WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY Join us this fall for the Wednesday Evening Bible Study. Our study will be First and Second Thessalonians. We meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. starting Oct. 4 through Nov. 15. Like a tender shepherd, Paul wrote the letters of 1 & 2 Thessalonians to an early church community of believers he founded in Thessalonica, a huge city in Macedonia. These were friends he knew, loved, and missed. His purpose in writing was to thank them for their work of faith, their labor of love, and their continued hope in the Lord Jesus Christ... and His coming again. Paul was also eager to remind them of the example their faithfulness had been to those around them. His message can help all of us live out the Christian life today. The retreat topic, Seven Desires of Every Heart, will be presented by Brother Michael Lautieri from the Monastery of the Holy Spirit. The seven desires are: 1. To be heard and understood 2. To be affirmed 3. To be blessed 4. To be safe 5. To be touched (in a healthy way) 6. To be chosen and 7. To be included. 6 PRAYER BLANKET MINISTRY Do you knit, crochet, quilt, or weave? Your time, talent, and prayer can provide healing consolation and a comforting embrace to those experiencing physical, emotional, or spiritual difficulties. Each recipient is prayed for by the blanket maker. The blankets are BLESSED by Fr. Herrera and are a GIFT from Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church. The next Prayer Blanket Ministry Meeting will be Monday, September 25 at 10 a.m. in the Social Hall. Consider joining this worthwhile ministry. You would be most welcomed. Your creativity can provide loving support for someone in need. STEWARDSHIP SCRIPTURE REFLECTION In today s Gospel, the vineyard owner says, I am free to do as I please with my money, am I not? We are likewise free. Is a generous return to the Lord in thanksgiving for His many blessings among the choices we have made? The Knights of Columbus Council from Christ Our King and Savior Church held their officer installation ceremony on July 10 th at the church. Officiating was Wally Marcis, the GA State District Deputy. During his acceptance remarks, the incoming Grand Knight Jim Blankenheim recognized the outstanding service of the outgoing Grand Knight Ken Weber. A reception dinner followed the ceremonies at Da Corrado s Ristorante for the new slate of officers and their guests. The Knights of Columbus is the world s largest Catholic fraternal organization with more than 1.9 million members. Locally, the Pope John Paul II Council located at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church has 179 members and serves Greene, Putnam and Hancock counties.
