If I have forgotten or missed someone please let me know. Finances In order to keep the congregation better informed the council decided to publish thefinanceseach month. We need $300 per Sunday to meet our budget. Thisfigureis arrived at by dividing the budget by 52 Sundays. 3 We will have communion on the Sunday's/Other Services when we have an ordained minister with us. On other Sunday's Jason Meyer or Richard Pulcher will be serving us, no communion on these Sunday's Those serving us and communion dates are subject to change. Visitation At this time we do not have a full time pastor. If you would like a visitfroma pastor or are in need of other services, Jason Meyer has agreed to be the primary contact at this time. A NotefromBonnie Weber Greetings to the believers at St. John's Lutheran Church of Oilman - hope you are all experiencing a fiin summer either in travel and sight-seeing or just local activities. Two of our boys werefishingsunday, catching over 25 on Marshmiler Lake. It was a beautiful day to be out there. The boys couldnt help b think ot their tather and how he loved to tish. I here was never any grumbling about cleaning them wh he got home! The thought about how good they would taste made the cleaning go quickly. Fishing has always been used as a biblical example for those who trust in God to bring others into the nets of believing in God's love and care for us. In those days,fishingwas done by nearly everyone because of living near water aiiu tjie rieed for food to survive. Flsiiiiig nets were owried by tliose who could use them and sell what they caught. Many of the disciples werefishermenby trade. As Christ called them to becomefishersof people, they left those nets and followed Him. Christ is still calling - w can hear His voice if we will be still and listen. That call i5 there for us to reach out to those in need perhaps some have never heard about God's love. It maybe sounds like an old and well used line, but so tnie. Reach out to others to spread God's love. This July 3rd our family will be gathering at a good friend's house in Chetek to eat, play games, and enjoy each other's company. As dusk falls, we will gather at the shore of Prairie Lake to light luminaries and launch them into the night sky in remembrance of Howie and our grandson, Ronny. We are so looking forward to this time together. Howfittingthat we should be at a lake, basking in the knowledg that God's love and grace are there for each one! Thanks be to God for these two lives that made our lives so muchricherand how we enrich each oth with our memories and love. AMEN! Dear Friends of the Northwest Synod of Wisconsin, I am humbled and grateful for this opportunity to serve as your bishop. For the last 4.S years I Ve served as the Director of Evangelical Mission/Assistant to Bishop Rick Hoyme and before that for 28 years, I was a parish pastor in Windom, Slayton, St. Cloud and Pelican Rapids, MN. I am excited and hopeful about the future! The Holy Spirit is moving and working among us in new and exciting ways challenging us to go deeper in our faith and moving us outside our comfort zone. Paying attention to where the Spirit is calling us and learning to CO and DO in Jesus' name is an important part of my work 35 Bishop.! encourage the people of our synod to not only GO to Church but to BE the church in the worid. \ A little bit about me: My husband Randy and I both graduated from Luther Seminary in He is the pastor of Christ Lutheran in Menomonie. We have three adult children. Andrew (30) is married to Kristina. 1 hey live in Appieton and are expecting our first grandchild July 18. Matthew (27) is engaged to Emily Ewen. They are getting married August 18. Anna (24) graduated from St. Kates and works in Occupationdi Tnerdpy. i love to garden dnd help things grow, i enjoy cooking and entertaining family and friends. When I have time, 1 like to bike, canoe or kayak. I look forward to getting to know you and your congregations.
