1 Route 46 East, Netcong, NJ Volume 11, Issue 6 What are we doing? We are growing our Church by adding a 5th service. Why are we adding a 5th service now? Over the last five years, we have seen a 9% increase in attendance, a 24% increase in membership, and numerous decisions to trust Christ as well as baptisms. This growth, however, has resulted in an ever-increasing need to accommodate the new guests God is leading to our campuses. This new service will serve as an alternate worship venue for those who call Grace home, thereby making more room on Sunday mornings to accommodate new guests God leads to our doorsteps. The timing of this new service and unique conveniences it allows will also provide us with the opportunity to reach new people in our community who otherwise can t attend our Sunday morning services. When and where will this new service take place? The first service will launch on Sunday, September 8, It will take place every Sunday at 6:00 P.M. in the auditorium at the Netcong Campus. Pastor Segun Aiyegbusi will be the primary Bible teacher and campus pastor on Sunday evenings. How will it compare to the existing morning services? The Sunday evening service at 6:00 P.M. will include the same Biblical teaching as Sunday morning services while leveraging some perks that naturally come with placing a service on Sunday evenings. Will this be an additional burden on our current volunteers? It s been said that 20% of the congregants often end up doing 80% of the work in the Church. Our plan is to tap into the pool of willing people who are currently not serving on Sunday mornings at either campus. We will work to recruit volunteers from Sunday mornings and some young adults currently attending REMIX. Will Children s Ministry be provided? Yes, a children s program will be provided for children birth through 4th grade. All other ages will be encouraged to participate in the worship service. SUNDAY SERVICES: NETCONG CAMPUS: 8:15, 9:45 & 11:15 A.M. ROCKAWAY CAMPUS: 10:00 A.M. TO RAISE UP GENERATIONS OF FAMILIES THAT ARE BUILT TO LAST
2 We're glad you made Grace part of your Sunday morning! The worship music, biblical teaching, and children's programs all come together each week to raise up generations of families that are built to last. These three components represent the beginning of a faith-growing path in Christ. If you like to work behind the scenes and help another person in need, join the Care-Net team. What do we do? We help others with the practical things of life: moving, packing, cleaning, making a meal, yard work, etc... On the third Saturday of each month, our friends 68 and older enjoy lunch and great Christian fellowship. This lunch is designed for both men and women who are hungry for the Bible and good Christian friends. This month they meet on JUNE 15 from 11:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. in the Grace Cafe (Netcong Campus). Come for the fun! Questions? Contact Sue Healy at whartonsue@yahoo.com. How do we do it? Periodically, requests for assistance are sent out to members of the team via . You read the , see if you have the talent and can make the time, and we get you connected! It can be that easy. Who do we help? The requests shared are from people who are regular attendees at Grace (Your brothers and sisters from your church body). How to get involved? If you are interested in serving with this group, please contact Pastor Cameron Baker at cameron@grace4families.com he will be happy to add you to our growing list of helpers. ALSO: If you find yourself needing a little assistance, drop an to Pastor Cameron at cameron@grace4families.com he will be happy to share your opportunity with others who may be able to assist. What is GRACE SWAP? It is a place for people to connect the things that they have (you know, the stuff you no longer use, the stuff in your attic, or drawer, or garage) with people who need them. At the Cafe' you will find cards to fill out describing the item that you would like to GIVE away (All must be free). It will be posted on the bulletin board for others to see and write down your information. NO items will actually be accepted here at Grace. Once the item is gone, you simply remove your card and praise God for the chance to serve someone else's need. Do you speak with the Lord often? Consider praying for others at Grace as part of that conversation. Every day Grace Church has close to a hundred people praying for the needs of others. If you are a person of prayer and a believer in Jesus Christ, we need you on our Prayer Team. If you are interested in finding out more, shoot an to Mary Ann at maryann@grace4families.com. If you are in need of prayer, let Mary Ann know and she will publish your request to the team.
3 If you would like to be baptized at Grace Netcong, we will be having baptisms on July 14. Baptism by immersion is an important step in our Christian walk. It is a public proclamation of our decision to follow Jesus. He Himself was baptized as an example to us. If you have never been baptized and would like to be, contact Tim Leonard at tim@grace4families.com or call the church office at This Month's Topic: Facing My Anger Participants will discover: That anger is either good or bad Why anger keeps us from seeing things accurately How to express anger in a healthy and constructive manner It s with great anticipation and excitement that we look forward to the new Sunday evening 6:00 P.M. service Grace Church will be launching this fall. We are eager to see God use this new venue to draw many who are far from Him into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. We desire to see lives changed, marriages healed, the broken restored, and families made whole, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. (Colossians 1:28) To prepare ourselves for what we expect to be an outpouring of God s Spirit and favor on our Church, we want to enter into a season of prayer for the new Sunday night service. Starting on June 12th, we d like to invite you to join us for prayer every Wednesday evening at 7:00 P.M. in the basement of the white building next to the church. You don t need to sign up. Just bring a Bible and a heart full of faith, and we ll guide you in prayer as we call on the name of the Lord together. If you have any questions, you can reach pastor Segun Shegz Aiyegbusi at segun@grace4families.com. Recommend DivorceCare to someone you know who can benefit from it! DivorceCare is a friendly, caring group of people who will walk alongside you through one of life's most difficult experiences. Gain access to valuable DivorceCare resources to help you deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life. DivorceCare meets on the first Sunday of every month at the Netcong Campus (June 2) from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Childcare is not provided. Contact Steve or Tracy Heady at sheady521@optonline.net with any questions. You can also check out the DivorceCare Website at to learn more. Men, at our next Men s Breakfast at 8:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 29, we will welcome Gian Paul Gonzales as our speaker. You might remember that before their Super Bowl XLVI win, the NY Giants brought Gian Paul in to give a pre-game devotional pep talk. Many of the Giants reported that it was that talk which turned their season around. Join us Saturday morning to hear Gian Paul s story of faith and commitment. He is obviously a gifted speaker and an honorable man of God. This is a great event for men of all ages, so bring your sons. The cost is $10 person and includes a delicious breakfast.

One woman gave her shopping cart to another shopper. The shopper tried to give her a quarter for the cart, but our Woman of Grace declined. The shopper was surprised and pleased to have this act of kindness given to her. If you have a story to share, pass it along to Sherrie at sherrie@grace4families.com so we can encourage one another. At the brunch, a card filled with ideas was handed out. If you would like a card, stop by the Information Center and pick one up.
