Ever since their inception, these mild-mannered communities have always lingered towards creating You-topias amid a sea of consumerism and opulence. So we must be careful, amid our new houses, plentiful grocery stores, diverse restaurants and convenient shopping, to not let the suburbs cloud our souls. Having access to an abundance of resources often leads to forgetting our calling and ourselves. Solomon, writing in Ecclesiastes, shows us a vivid example of a life of plenty and convenience that, while meeting all the marks of success, was at its end a failure. In considering our place in this space, we must contend boldly for our radical calling.

This week, urges you to look critically at your weekly activities to carve out time for things of long-term spiritual consequence. Come by The Porch in the Fellowship Hall to get this week s packet of information and resources to aid your home in finding time to praise God and find comfort in Him. Parking Update Thank you to those who have been creating space for our guests by parking at the USRA building the last several months. The parking lot at the Mission Training Center, which provides an additional thirty spots, is now complete. In combination with the staff parking by the garage area, this is sufficient for our current parking needs. For those who are able bodied, please park at the MTC until it is at capacity. UM Army Students (in completed grades 8 12) will serve alongside other churches in Liberty, Texas, helping with outdoor and light construction projects. Adult volunteers are still needed!
