(Roman Missal) The solemnity of The Nativity of Saint John the Baptist is celebrated on June 24th every year, regardless of the day of the week. Before he was born, John was chosen by God to prepare the world for the Son of God. Today, as we remember the birth of Saint John the Baptist, let us recall our own baptism and our initiation into the Christian faith. Attention All Ministry Leaders! 5 Safety Trumps Good Manners As parents/caregivers, we teach children to say please and thank you, to play nicely, and to respect other adults. It is also key to stress the importance of safety, and let children know that it is okay to be impolite if they feel threatened or scared. Children should know that it s okay to say NO if someone is asking them to do something they don t feel comfortable doing, and that setting boundaries by saying things like -- Don t touch me there, or I don t like that -- are not rude, but in fact necessary for their safety.
