CAROLYN KING-STEPHENS, GUEST ORGANIST/CHOIR DIRECTOR A warm welcome to Dr. King-Stephens, who served as guest organist at Hillside many years ago. We are delighted to welcome her back. Dr. King-Stephens educational background includes a Doctorate of Education from the University of Sarasota in Florida, A Master of Arts from Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, and a Bachelor of Arts from Clark Atlanta University. She has received additional instruction in Piano, pipe organ, and gospel organ from renowned musicians. Dr. King- Stephens has been involved in music in diverse settings. Since graduating from Clark Atlanta, the DeKalb County School District has been her employer, where she has received many awards and accolades. In church settings, she was the director of music and fine arts at Columbia Drive United Methodist Church and church organist and children s music ministry lead at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Whether we knew it or not, many of us have heard Dr. King-Stephens play. For 18 years, she was the organist and pianist for the National League Atlanta Braves. She has also performed and provided accompaniment for many individual events and projects, too numerous to include in this small space. HILLSIDE S FOOD PANTRY SEPTEMBER: 109 families/ 346 individuals served; 3,088 pounds of food distributed. NORM FIKES His surgery last week was successful. Pray for complete healing.
