CONGREGATION: We pray for mothers everywhere. They give us life and love and hold our families together. Amid changing family structures we remember mothers young and old, single mothers, homeless mothers, grandmothers, godmothers, and surrogate mothers. LEADER: We pray for mothers who suffer due to unemployment, insufficient housing and poor healthcare. CONGREGATION: Divine Nurturer, fortify our mothers. Continue to make them a refuge in the time of trouble. LEADER: We pray for mothers and their children, as violent crimes and drug abuse comprise to tear the fiber of families.

2 CONGREGATION: God, empower mothers to continue enrich the lives of their families. Aid them as they teach sons and daughters determination and the value of investing in the future. LEADER: Mothers have always been activists and leaders, teaching us how to live and making our communities better. ALL: Because our mothers taught us that the Lord will make a way out of no way, we have the inheritance of a powerful spiritual legacy. We give black mothers bouquets of gratitude and honor. 3 HEALTH & WELLNESS MINISTRY: May is Mental Health Month, dedicated to raising awareness about a common but treatable illness. Flyers are available throughout the church to promote how we can support one another to meet the needs of those affected by mental health issues. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 6 JUNE 4 RACE FOR THE PLACE : The Gathering Place s 17 th annual Race for the Place 5K and 1 mile run/walk will be Sunday, June 4 th at Beachwood Place. This is to celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day. You may also sign up on their website lace.com. Our team name is Antioch Walkers and the team leader is Andrea Sims. You may join our team or make a donation on-line if you wish. Come to the McMickle Chapel to get information on how to register participants or teams or make your donations to support services for those coping with the impact of cancer in their daily lives.
