2 Greetings! I greet you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are rapidly approaching the celebration of the DAY OF PENTECOST- Sunday, June 4, Pentecost (from the Greek word Pentecoste meaning 50 th day) ranks among the great feasts of Christianity along with Christmas and Easter. Known as The Birthday of the Church, it marks the day, nearly 2,000 years ago, when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles following the resurrection of Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday. Emboldened by the Holy Spirit, the Apostles set forth to tell all people in Jerusalem of the Resurrection. As they spoke in tongues given to them by the Holy Spirit, all nationalities present could understand them in their own language (mother tongue). It is my fervent prayer that the Holy Spirit will descend upon Antioch and the members of Antioch and embolden us to live progressive lives; win the lost; and make disciples. preparation for this life-changing celebration of Pentecost; our expectation of a FRESH outpouring; and a personal and corporate re-filling of the Holy Spirit, we have set aside and will engage in 10 Days of Prayer. To assist you individually and our church collectively, we have prepared this Road To Pentecost prayer guide. In This guide outlines the dates, times, and locations for our 10 Days of Prayer. You will also find a list of 30 things we can pray for that

3 will help us to Progress. This list is based on the events found in Acts chapters 1 and 2, therefore, I encourage you to read and study Acts chapters 1 and 2 as we prepare for the celebration of Pentecost. Finally, I thank God for the leadership of Dr. Christopher Toote and the entire team of devoted leaders (listed below) who joined together in the prayerful planning and implementation of this exciting celebration. 4 The Word of God Acts 1:12-14 (KJV) Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a Sabbath day's journey. And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. Acts 1:12-14 (NIV) Then the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the hill called the Mount of Olives, a Sabbath day s walk from the city. When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James. They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4 (NIV) When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
