1 The Seward United Methodist Fai h FULL Times As we enter into a holy time as a church of prayer and discernment, you are invited to join in the prayer movement. We pray that we may listen to God s voice and pray for the church. We are called to a posture of prayer, asking for God to guide us effectively in fulfilling the mission of the church. So with this in mind, will you join in prayer? Be in prayer for this week's town hall meeting Sept. 30 Prairie Rivers District, Trinity UMC in Grand Island,3:305:30 p.m. Almighty God, to you our hearts are open, all desires known, and from you no secrets are hidden. Fill your church with the inspiration of your Holy Spirit, so that we may perfectly love you and worthily magnify your holy name, through Christ our Lord. Amen. Adapted from United Methodist Book of Worship, p Used by permission. The collect, an ancient pattern of prayer, is short and to the point, yet has a rich content. Not only are many collects included in this and other collections of prayers but persons who learn to pray in this form can quickly and easily compose appropriate prayers for all kinds of occasions. These are the elements of a collect: An address to God, who is (name an attribute of God), petition (starts with a verb), so that.amen. Create your own collect as we pray for the church together. Address Who is (Petition) So that Amen. To connect with more prayer resources in the Great Plains, go to as well as a weekly prayer prompt for more ways to join in prayer together.

We continue to implement our new Creative Curriculum which is nationally approved by NAEYC as well as used in many state sit u a t i o n s because it is research based, hands on, aligned w i t h national and state standards, and it is a lot of fun with meaningful learning for children of all ages. Five Reasons to Attend YOUTH 2019 (Article from of Youth2019.com Blog) It s a great way to make friends. This seems pretty obvious, but I ll say it anyway. The YOUTH Event is an amazing way to make life long friends. Not only do you get to bond with your youth group you get to meet kids from all over the country! It will strengthen your faith. I can t tell you how many times I have heard people say to me The YOUTH Event is where I first felt my call to ministry. How amazing is it to think that this week spent in Kansas City, having fun with great friends, could be a week that changes your life? God s work, your hands. This year we are doing something a little different with the YOUTH Event. We ve always incorporated service into the YOUTH Event, but it s going to be BIGGER and BETTER. In 2019 we will be doing an entire day of service. Groups will be sent out into Kansas City to help us leave the city better than we found it. Worship. We already talked about how the YOUTH Event can impact your faith life, but it s really an amazing worship experience in general. Where else can you worship with six thousand other Methodists? We can t wait to host everyone in the Kansas City Municipal Auditorium. It s going to be amazing! Kansas City. If you haven t been to Kansas City lately you are in for a great surprise! Kansas City has a vibrant, friendly, and safe downtown full of fun activities and great food. I mean, Kansas City BBQ, need I say more? For more information, visit Youth2019.com or contact Wess & Shannon Robotham. Wish you had a quick, prepared meal in your freezer for those busy weeknights? SUMC Youth can help! Those youth who plan to attend The Youth Event will be preparing and selling freezer meals during the month of October. Look for the order forms in the Welcome Center beginning October 7th! Orders will continue to be accepted through October 24th. The meals will be prepared October 27th and distributed on October 28th (or another arranged date if you aren t available). You will receive a delicious, ready-to-heat meal and support sending our youth to Kansas City next summer for the National Gathering of United Methodist Youth where they will worship, bible study, serve, and fellowship with 6,000+ others. They will be inspired, supported, and challenged to grow authentically as a worldchanging disciple of Jesus Christ.
