In this issue: OFFERINGS... 2 ANNOUNCEMENTS.. 3 CALENDAR... 4 BIRTHDAYS... 4 Once again, on July 4, we celebrate the birthday of our nation this year we are 238 years old! But as a nation we have spent the last 50 years trying our best to get rid of God in our country. By teaching evolution as a fact to generation after generation, and by removing the Bible, the Ten Commandments, and prayer from the public square we have pretty well convinced every one of the quaintness and irrelevancy of God. We have advocated for freedom FROM religion - and under the guise of political correctness, lest anyone should be offended by the idea and existence of God, we have shut God up and have locked the door hoping He will just stay there. He won t. America desperately needs to know the truth about God! And that is exactly what an Old Testament prophet by the name of Micah would say today. How do we know? Because that is precisely what he said to Israel back in his day. The nation of Israel had done the same thing to God that America has done. Micah took up his pen and wrote an IF YOU ONLY KNEW WHO GOD REALLY IS note to Israel. In the note he told them what God was really like. He introduced Israel to the God they had long forgotten. 2 Page 2 God always meets our needs as we faithfully give to Him with our tithes and offerings. It is a great joy and privilege to work together to see God strengthen and grow the ministry of East Hills Church. Thank you so much for the part you play in the ministry development of this church. God is doing some really awesome things in our church family Pastor s Corner (Continued from Page 1) In essence he wrote, Mr. John Doe, Meet the God of heaven! Here is what he told them: 1. God is really a wonderful God of Grace! Who is a God like Thee, who pardons all our sin! (Micah 7:18) 2. God is really a wonderful God of Love! He delights in his unchanging love (Micah 7:18) 3. God is really an awesome God of Mercy! He casts all of our sin in the depths of the sea (Micah 7:19) 4. God is really a God of Truth and He can be totally Trusted! You will give only truth to your people (Micah 7:20) 5. God is really 100% Loyal and Faithful to the very end! His loyal love lasts forever Micah 7:20 The old prophet wanted the people of his day to know the truth about God! And just like Israel in the day of Micah, so America needs to know who God really is. And that is where you and I and East Hills Church come in this too is our task, our privilege and our responsibility and our challenge! What a difference God would make in our nation if we allow Him to be the mighty God He is in our lives and in our nation! Even at 238 years of age we have a lot of learning yet to do! 3 LET FREEDOM RING COMING THIS FALL Page 3 9:15 CHRISTIAN EDUCATION HOUR! Starting in September, this will be an exciting added dimension to our church ministry. It will be a great opportunity for new Christians to grow and become strong in their faith. It will also be a great opportunity for older Christians to participate in the growth process. During this special time, we will focus on: WALK THROUGH THE BIBLE THE BASICS OF THE FAITH THE SPIRITUAL JOURNEY Plan to attend the 9:15 hour in addition to our worship service. The classes will be interactive and fun for everyone! ALSO COMING THIS FALL: BELIEVERS BAPTISM If you would like to be baptized, please talk to Pastor Roger. CHURCH MEMBERSHIP CLASS If you would like to become a member of East Hills Church, this class is for you! This will be a one session class following the worship service with lunch included. Dates of these two events will be determined soon.
