2 From The Pastor s Desk It s been a short summer so far. But, in a way, it s been a long summer as well. Short because the school calendar finally gets in sync with the rest of the world. After this unusual summer, we should be back to a more normal timetable. Long because there is so much to fit into this time, it just plain wears one out. Whether short or long, we need to see things from God s timetable. He desires we make the most of our time. Time to serve others. Time to thank those who make a difference for the good in our lives. Time to pursue those who need the church the community of Christ. Who are you pursuing? Look around you. People need the Lord. And for some, you and I are the only ones who will pursue them and guide them to find the truth. That s the long and short of it people matter. Your Pastor, Stephen G. Hatfield Senior Pastor
3 Basecamp was a huge success! Six students came to know Jesus for the first time at camp this year. Many spoke one-on-one with adults about rededication to their walk with God or struggles within their relationship with God. It is exciting to see God continue to work in the midst of the students. Throughout the journey of camp, we had multiple adults who took the time to invest in the students. My main message to them: Thank you for being here. You are the ministers to these students. To all of you who are reading this, thank you for loving and ministering to our students. Without your support, we would not have such success. God is doing great things. As the journey continues, please continue to pray for the student ministry as it continues to develop. Pray for the student ministry staff as the focus shifts from summer activities to fall. Most of all, pray the students here will become event better lights in our community as we focus on pursuing the lost of Lewisville STUDENT MINISTRY
4 Building UPDATES Changes are still happening here at FBCL. Here are some things that are going on as we prepare our campus for all generations This July, we have: Painted all 1st floor bathrooms Painted 110 classrooms Painted the preschool wing Purchased new entrance rugs Construction fence and equipment arrived Coming Soon: Continue painting on first floor Install flooring in the preschool wing Get permits and complete loan paperwork Begin student renovation Begin new construction on the children s wing
5 KIDZONE CAMP & What an AMAZING week of camp! The week of July 10-14, 140 students in grades 6-12 (and their 35 adults sponsors), as well as 112 children in grades 1-5 (and their 31 sponsors) enjoyed an amazing week at Camp Timberline in Lindale, TX. During this week of in-depth Bible study, teaching, relationship, recreation, and plain old FUN, 9 children prayed to receive Christ, 6 students received Christ, 17 students rededicated themselves to walk with the Lord in a fresh way, and more than fifty students counseled with adult leaders. Camp is a week like no other in ministry. As kids and students depart from technology and distraction, they plug into relationship with God, his people, and each other. The result is the stuff best memories and Christian testimony are made of. To God be the glory! Great things he hath done! Thank you, Church Family, for faithfully giving to enable ministries like camps happen at First Baptist Lewisville. It is a joy to partner with you in the spiritual development of children and students.
