As we reflect on 2017 and anticipate a new season of ministry at Calvary Nexus we are extremely grateful. We are grateful to God for His faithfulness during the past twenty-one years. We are grateful to those who are part of this community of faith who support this movement with their resources of time, talents, and treasure. We have sought to leverage those resources as good stewards to faithfully minister to our local community and advance the global kingdom of God. We want to share some of the ways that your gifts are spreading the gospel and the kingdom of God. May Jesus continue to bless us as we grow in our love for God and our neighbors. Theme Verse For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, He will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you. Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God. 3 02 core values + vision/love the bible Core Values & Vision: We are followers of Jesus who love the Bible: e completed a verse by verse indepth study through the Gospel of Matthew that lasted seventy-five weeks. The theme for the study was Jesus is our King. Throughout the study, we focused on learning to submit every realm of our life to His authority. Then we began an indepth study through Ephesians where we discovered In Christ We Are... We are a movement of Jesus followers who are committed to learning and living God s Word. Each week an average of almost 1,200 adults and children are learning the Bible at our weekend services. They are served by our staff that is the equivalent of fourteen fulltime workers. We baptized over fifty people who publically declared their devotion to Jesus. 1, average weekly attendance people were baptized Page 2

4 03 core values + vision/margin for what matters Our middle school and high school students are growing in their love for God and neighbors. We gather at the church campus to grow in Christ, and school campuses, which are the students neighborhoods. We generally see over 100 students gather at our weekly campus ministries. In 2018, we will be initiating after school Youth Neighborhood Groups [YNGs] as part of our plan to saturate our community with gospel-centered NGs. Easter at the Camarillo Ranch House was celebrated by almost 20,000 downloads of spiritual leadership & church planting resources Our church planting and spiritual leadership resources have been downloaded over 20,000 times, and help to develop followers of Jesus who love the Bible around the globe We create margin for what matters most: Life is too complicated. We purposefully make space in our lives so we can be with God, our families and our neighbors. This year we reduced the number of large-scale events that we hosted, but they were awesome: Easter at the Camarillo Ranch House was celebrated by almost 3,000 people. Love God and Neighbors Conference equipped church leaders from our community and beyond as we learned from vanguard leaders from across the country. Page 3

5 04 core values + vision/come together go together Church at the Park was enjoyed by more than 1,500 people worshiping, eating, and playing together. Our Kids Ministry serves approximately 250 children learning about Jesus every Sunday. There are about 100 volunteers helping the children to become Jesus disciples. We now offer more classes, and introduced a highly interactive and effective curriculum. We began redecorating classrooms, and will continue to update in The 5th Annual Kids Kolor Run event was the largest to date with about 300 kids and adults gathering. 1,500 attended church at the park The gospel was clearly presented with the use of various colors, kids ran one of four age appropriate courses while getting sprayed with colored water, and everyone enjoyed a tri-tip BBQ. We come together and go together: E very weekend we gather to glorify God and then decentralize to saturate our community through gospel-cen tered Neighborhood Groups. This year we unified to one campus on Mobil Ave. PICTURE OF MOBIL CAFE Losing our lease at the Lewis Rd. campus was bittersweet, but the increased unity of coming together at one campus has been wonderful. The unification allowed us to invest resources for necessary improvements and repairs which included: our beautiful café remodel, new flooring in the classrooms, a disability lift (pending) to enable our disabilities ministry, and a fresh sanctuary decoration and design. Our campus is the only new Protestant church in our city that has been built from the ground up in the last twenty years, and we want it to thrive as a pillar for our community for generations to come. 6 05 core values + vision/come together go together Neighborhood Groups are the small groups where we learn to love God and our neighbors better. There are almost 50 groups meeting throughout our community, and over 600 people growing as Jesus disciples in these groups. Our Vision is to saturate this community with gospel-centered Neighborhood Groups during the next ten years. We re excited to see lives transformed as we live The Great Commandment and love God supremely and love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Missions: A s part of our vision, we plan to sup port five church plants in the next ten years. The first two church plants that we have adopted are located in Playas de Tiajuana and Vista de Valle in Nothern Baja, Mexico, our neighbors across the border. Our international influence stretches around the globe through our mission s support. We support 18 missionary initiatives on 5 continents.
