3 WE NEED YOUR HELP! The church yard sale is SATURDAY! A lot of help is needed to make this a success. If you can help, please complete the form that is included in this issue of the echimes and bring it with you on Saturday. We really need your support! RETIREMENT DEADLINE SUNDAY! After many years of dedication, Donna Dixon Ervin will be retiring from PUMC as our senior organist. A celebration of her time with us will take place after the 10:30 service on June 18 th in the fellowship hall. A Love offering is being collected for Donna's retirement gift. Please ensure the check or envelop indicates "Donna's love offering" and is received by THIS SUNDAY, JUNE 11. It may be placed in the offering plate or passed to Ginger Atchison. FROM YOUR TRUSTEES The Trustees are happy to report that work to replace our Fellowship Hall rusting metal wall, doors and cracked windows is now scheduled to begin June 26, 2017; this is the wall that faces the playground area. Please note the date change. The metal frame wall will be replaced with a modular "store front" wall similar to what we have at our entrance. The layout will be very similar to what we currently have except that the very top row which is now glass will be insulated panels. The entire system will consist of insulated panels, low- e insulated glass and new exit doors. The work is expected to take a week to complete and during this time the Fellowship Hall will not be available for use, so please plan accordingly and thank you for your patience during this renovation project. If you have any questions, please see Don Auman or Dave Mearman. DRESSES FOR GIRLS Our June meeting is Thursday, June 15 in the Choir Room from 10AM to 2PM. We usually brown bag our lunch and will have coffee, tea, and water available. Please join us. For more information, contact Marilyn Shepard.

6 UPPER ROOM PRAYER GROUP "Christ is among us in fresh ways when we gather together..." Join us for 4 weeks this summer to share the "Upper Room" devotion, discussion, and prayer for an hour. We will meet on the second and fourth Wednesdays beginning June 14, June 28, July 12, and July 26 from 1:00-2:00PM in the choir room, led by Dottie Davis Clark. SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED - Summer 2017 Volunteers to teach children s Sunday School during June, July, and August will be able to sign up during worship services. This year s theme is Treasure Seekers with lots of stories, crafts, and music to help you plan your lesson. You need not commit to teaching the entire time you are welcome to teach even for just 1-2 weeks. Substitutes and helpers are always welcome. We appreciate your help. The parties in the past five years have brought in between $500 to $700 for the United Methodist Women. We are in desperate need of replenishing our pantry, especially those items highlighted, so when you are grocery shopping please consider purchasing a few the items listed below. We have reservations for June The weather at this time of year is usually perfect for outdoor activities. Haven t been camping before - this is the perfect place to start. Each campsite can accommodate tents, trailers, or motor homes, and the facilities include a covered pavilion, kitchen area for cooking meals, and bathrooms and showers. The area is full of wildlife and there is nearby Sleepy Creek to investigate. You can also go antiquing in Berkeley Springs, visit the many Civil War sites, canoe in the Potomac, or shop in Martinsburg or the outlet center in Hagerstown. We have plenty of room so please come and bring as many friends and relatives as possible. We always have a potluck on Saturday and there s always a spot available to sit around the fireplace in the evenings. The camp is located at 679 Harmison Lane, Berkley Spring, WV. 8 UMYF CAMP HOPE 2017 This year our mission to Cumberland, MD will be Sunday, July 2 through Saturday, July 8. After our $5 after- church- lunches got us started, the United Methodist Women made their annual generous donation to the fund. In 2017, two spring yard clean- ups also boosted our fundraising. And donations also continue to arrive in memory of Michele Forney and Bob Willats. Special thanks go to Melissa Badger for organizing Saturday's Vendor Event which raised over $450. This year s mission youth team includes: Nathan Cabral, Jessica Calvert, Maddie Hamilton, Samantha Harris, Lauryn Hill, Dorothy and Mattie Hood, Samantha Leo and Kiera Wingfield (Hall UMC). Returning young adults are Darius Thomas and Nick Cabral. Adult leaders are: Walter Hallman, David Harris, Rob Hood, Andy Lentz, and Pastor Harry Smith from Hall UMC. 14 Church Yard Sale and Kids Stuff Is Almost Here - June 10!! The Church Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, June 10th from 7:00AM to 2:00PM. THIS IS A COMBINED KIDS STUFF AND GENERAL HOUSEHOLD GOODS YARD SALE. All donations must be in good condition and in good working order. Only children s clothing will be accepted, no adult clothing. Proceeds from the sale will be used for the general fund and the 100th Anniversary 2018 fund. A Car Wash will also be held benefiting the Camp HOPE mission along with a Bake Table benefiting the Susanna Wesley House. Ask yourself one question, How can I help? Well, besides praying for a warm, sunny day on June 10th, there are lots of ways to participate and we do need lots of help! Yard sales are a great place for fellowship and having fun together! Please consider what you can do and let us know!
