Spring is in the air and will officially begin on March 20, Phrases related to spring that come to mind are it s time for spring cleaning ; I have a case of spring fever, or spring puts a bounce in my step or I love the spring time. For the Wesleyan Village there is a different feeling about spring, yes it is a great time of the year but it is also the time when our winter residents begin to pack and head home to their northern destinations, it is always great to see them for the winter months and sadness when they head home. The winter residents are a cherished part of the Wesleyan Village family. We have distinct seasons in many parts of the country, in some areas it is more distinct than others, however, in the spiritual world we have a constant in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). We can see the seasons change, our circumstances change, health changes and all the other changes that may occur in our life sometimes may be overwhelming but we have a Savior who never changes, PTL! There are so many fantastic activities and programs that take place in the Wesleyan Village which are evidenced and noted in this newsletter edition. From our office, in addition to the day-to-day operations, there are major projects taking place which include in part the Cortez Office renovations on the highway, the renovations of the life leases which will soon be for a public open house (March 17 th ), and the capital campaign is coming to closures in the end of March. Thank you for your support of Wesleyan Village evidenced by your donations to the Capital Campaign. The annual Bible Conference is early this month and I trust you will take the opportunity to receive spiritual food, blessings and an opportunity to have fellowship with other believers. This is an opportunity for individual and community growth. Dr. Holdren, Dr. Walters and Worship Leader Tab Beechler are the conference leaders who are gifted and will engage and challenge the attendee to a closer and deeper walk with God. On a personal note, Connie and I appreciate you and your support. So many of you indicate you are praying for us, thank you, and please continue to lift us in your prayers. Your prayers are an encouragement. The Wesleyan Village is a special place and the residents make the village unique in so many ways. Thank you for all you do to make the Wesleyan Village special. 2 FEBRUARY IN WESLEYAN VILLAGE How does one begin to tell of such an event filled month? (I guess at its beginning or shortly before.) Late January a team pool tournament was conducted the winners were unknown until the eight ball dropped into the called pocket. On the end of the winning cues were Jim Petropoulos and John Davisson. A group of approximately seventy Pennsylvanians gathered in the Dining Hall for their annual carry in meal. The eighteen sea going cruisers returned from their adventures in the Eastern Caribbean. The ports of call were of great interest as well as the onboard entertainment which included a string quintet which packed out the venue for each performance. On Monday, February 6th, the five year tradition during Music Night continued as Doug Jueckstock sang "Red Roses and then presented a lady with one dozen roses. This year s recipient was Bonnie Sanford. As in the past Bonnie carried the roses to Doug as he sang. Her countenance displayed her surprise when she was the recipient for 2017 Residents from Indiana gathered for their annual Breakfast at Country Kitchen on Monday, February 6th. Four couples were honored at the Golden L-R William and Sharol White, Ross and Laura Tullis Keith and Sharon Drury, and Judy and Richard Winslow Anniversary Celebration on February 10th.The program theme for the 2017 class was The Story Goes On. Wesleyan Village President, Dr.Don Maness pronounced a blessing upon the couples and gave the invocation. Rev./Dr. Jerry Pence, Pastor of the Brooksville Wesleyan Church led the couples in the renewal of their vows. Refreshments were served to all. A first time event was the Bazaar sale on Saturday, February 11th. Ladies from the village displayed and sold many of their crafts. Kingswood University held a reception on Sunday evening. An update of college activities was presented along with an opportunity to join them on a tour of Newfoundland in the summer of The month continued with a group of sixty-two ladies journeying to Word of Life for a Ladies Luncheon. Tuesday, February 14th, the RV residents gathered for their annual picnic. Wednesday, the 15th was an extra busy day. Residents from Wisconsin met for their annual breakfast; the monthly Birthday/Anniversary saw and heard Jimmy Davis, vocalist, present an appreciated concert at the noon lunch; and the Ladies had their Tea in the afternoon. President Don reported on actions of the Board at the monthly President s Coffee on Friday, February 17. Wesleyan Village residents assembled once again in the for its Open Mike night. A variety of songs and skits was the order of the evening. It was announced that the choral group had selected the name of Grace Notes for their name. The month continued with a group traveling to Lake Panasoffkee for an air boat ride. Some reported that this fulfilled one of the items on their bucket list. You may be able to see some of the pictures on Facebook. The Strawberry Social/Silent Auction is always a hit at Wesleyan Village. The short cake and berries were delicious. John Stickles crafted and donated, for auction, a serving tray, salt and pepper shakers and a sugar bowl which sold for $400. Who can forget the annual Hephzibah Banana Split day in the on February 22nd. Shirley Duncan from Hephzibah Children Home in Macon, GA presented the ministry of the Home. The Minister of Mirth (David Duncan) showed up in costume.

3 Friday morning, February 24th a group journeyed to The Tabernacle in the Wilderness in Tarpon Springs. All aspects of the Old Testament speaks of our Lord Jesus Christ. Included was a tour of the Bible Collection housed there. Presenting a quartet concert on February 24 was our own Gulf Ridge Quartet. (David O Nan, James Green, James Ricker and Kelly Looper. Bible Conference which began on February 28th rounded out the month of activities. Of course this does not include all the regular activities in the village. For the Winter Residents who may be journeying back to the Frozen North we wish you God s speed and will be looking for you next season. May your troubles be less and your blessings be more And nothing but happiness come through your door NEW OFFICE COMPLEX After years working with architects, contractors and county officials Wesleyan Village received approval to begin the renovations on the new office complex on Cortez Blvd. Clyde Hill, Director of Buildings and Grounds anticipates that renovations will be completed within four months. The addition of this facility will enhance Wesleyan Village and improve the working conditions of the office staff. Under consideration is use of the present office facility (first level) located on Wesley Dr..
