2 A word from the President Wow, what a busy month for the Victory Riders. We started out the month with a dinner ride to Applebee s in Alexandria. We left Jena on Friday afternoon the 14 th and headed to Pollock where we met Rudy and James. We all then headed on to Applebee s where we were joined by Ron and Kathy along with Elieen and Kenneth Stokes. Check out the photos at After dinner we stopped on the way back at Dairy Queen in Ball and got some ice cream. Bible study was at H.O. and Paula s house in May. Jean and I weren t able to attend due to the death of a friend and we were in Pineville at the funeral home. On May 24 Jean went to Holly Ridge to meet with members of the Delta Cruisers as they stood a flag line over I-20 as the Run for the Wall group passed through. This month we also began our Tuesday Bikes &Burgers Night as we meet at Sonic for burgers, fellowship, and exposure to the community. An exciting day at the Marengo Swamp Ride rounded out our recent events. A group of us went to Hebert, LA to join other CMA groups to man two hospitality tents at the Swamp Ride. We had a great time watching as rider after rider conquered the famed Suicide Hole. Thanks to T.W. for furnishing a boat for us to haul in equipment and people to set up the tent at the Hole. What a wonderful month of fellowship and service God blessed us with. Next month should be just as exciting as we begin it with a week at CMA National Rally. As we spend our time together we need to be mindful of the opportunities that God gives us to share His word. On a sad note we lost one of our Victory Riders to cancer. Mike Procell joined the Victory Riders shortly after we made a church run to Winnfield. Mike was battling cancer at the time and was not able to physically participate in our efforts but he was a prayer warrior and supporter of our efforts. We will sadly miss Mike and his dedication to the advancement of God s kingdom. Keep his wife and family in your prayers. Chaplain s Corner Luke 10:2 And He was saying to them, " (D) The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. This past month has been filled with a lot of prayer requests and sickness and death. I have spent a lot of time thinking of the people in need. Some of our friends and loved ones have gone to be with the Lord. Those of them who knew the Lord are with Him and those that didn t are not. That is why it is so important to try to get the good news to those that are lost. It is not God s will that any be lost, but some are. Many choose not to accept because they know not, and that is where we come in to share Jesus with them. I guess the burden is greater now because we have lost some of our workers. We strive daily to try to get new workers. I lift each of you up to the Lord that He will give strength to each one to do His will. Let s keep each other in prayer in the weeks to come that mighty works will be done in His name. As Moses was leading the people out of Egypt they were complaining about the things they were facing even though God was furnishing them with what they needed. So we have no need to complain; just thank God for what we are blessed with and press on. After all it is all about Jesus. H.O. Berry Chaplain, Victory Riders It s All About JESUS! 3 Road Captain Report Although May was warm and wet we still had some good rides. The first Saturday was Run for the Son weekend and we reported on that in the last newsletter. Several members rode their bikes to the May chapter meeting. On the 14 th we made a dinner run to Applebee s in Alexandria. Although we got in a pretty good shower just on the edge of Alexandria and had to take temporary refuge under the Interstate overpass, it turned out to be a great evening for riding as well as visiting with friends over a great meal. We had 21 total in attendance including Area Reps Ron and Kathy McMasters, and Spirit Riders Elieen & Kenneth Stokes. David & Jean s daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Dusty Wheeler, also made the ride with us. On the afternoon of the 16 th David & Jean introduced Phyllis and me to the game of geocaching. We rode down on Highway 28 to the diversion canal where we spent some time looking for some sort of hidden treasure. The GPS couldn t get us close enough to find it though, so we just rode on into Alexandria for supper. It was a nice ride. Jean reported that she rode up to I-20 to watch the Run for the Wall group go through on May 24 th. It was a little hot, but still a good ride and an awesome experience. Rudy and James rode to Pineville to the National Cemetery on the afternoon of the 30 th to help put out flags on the graves of our fallen soldiers. On Memorial Day David, Jean, Rudy and James helped serve lunch to the patients and staff of the Veteran s Hospital in Pineville, then participated in a motorcycle parade from the hospital to the National Cemetery. Last Saturday, June 5, David, Jean, Dillon and I participated in the Marengo Swamp Ride. Dillon, along with Donnie and Jeanie, rode the trails while David, Jean and I worked a hospitality tent giving out water, coffee and rag tracts to those coming by. A number of us are looking forward to heading up to Iron Mountain this weekend for the CMA National Rally. I ll report on it next month. In the meantime, take every advantage to ride, drink plenty of water in the hot weather & keep the shiny side up! T.W. The cost for registration and 1 night s lodging is $ Jean Smith We had our first Bikes & Burgers night at Sonic in Jena on June 1 with 7 of us enjoying food & fellowship. We hope that by being more visible in the community our chapter will become better recognized and maybe we can generate some interest in other bikers.

4 State Prayer Leader Message John called himself the disciple Jesus loved. Now we know that Jesus loved all the disciples, but I believe that John had an extraordinary revelation of God s love for him. He wrote some of the most beautiful and eloquent passages on the topic of love. I John 4:19 says we love because He first loved us. God created man in His own image. He created man without sin. Man without sin bears the same characteristics of God. I John 4:16 says that God is love. We were made to love and be loved. But sin entered the picture and distorted everything about God s creation, including man s ability to love the way God loves. Now, the only way we can come anywhere close to loving the way God loves, is by receiving God s impartation of that love to us when we become His child. When we experience salvation, we experience a taste of God s love for us. As we experience and grow in His love for us, then and only then, are we enabled to love Him back. As our love for God grows, that love overflows to others. Now we are able, not only to love God, but also to love others with the same kind of love (agape) that God loves us. The love of God in us should be expressed by loving our brothers and sisters in Christ, obedience to God s Word, righteous living, living without fear, and meeting the needs of others. So let us all be dispensers of God s love and, in so doing, reach the world for Christ one soul at a time.
