Together the group will help organize, implement, and promote Sunday School and Confirmation, as well as Youth and Family events. Each age group has a contact person/ representative: Shelley Jobb = preschool Jen and Joe Donnan = grammar school Jackye Hartmann = sixth, seventh, and eight graders, as well as confirmation Lisa Jaworek = high schoolers Erika Deiters = college students We have been discussing the Sunday School curriculum and missions, special church services, and holiday events. We look forward to Rally Day on Sunday, August 26 and the first day of Sunday School on September 9. God s blessing to the Downey family on the baptism of their son Liam Michael who was baptized at the 5:30 service on Saturday. Trinity welcomes Liam s family and friends. 1

2 Call Process Update Ministry Site Profile: As you know, the first step in initiating the call process is to complete a Ministry Site Profile (MSP) which essentially serves as a self-study of our church s ministry, congregation profile and leadership needs. Prospective pastors interested in accepting a new call will review the Ministry Site Profile to determine their interest in applying to be our next pastor. We, as a congregation, created as accurate, robust and comprehensive a document as possible. The Council approved the final draft of the Ministry Site Profile (MSP) at the Council meeting on 8/13/18 (M). Thank you, thank you, thank you for your thoughtful, insightful participation in the Congregational Survey, which provided robust data to inform the MSP! What s Next? The MSP and supporting Appendices must be uploaded into Call Process Online, a web site that supports the work of Call Process in the ELCA. This web site brings together the various forms used within Call Process and links them to a churchwide database the Mobility Database System (MDS). The MDS allows information from the Call Process forms to be summarized, searched and shared quickly and effectively, greatly enhancing the church s ability to engage in the common work of Call Process. ( As of this writing, we are experiencing some technical difficulties using Call Process Online. However, a request for assistance has been submitted to the Call Process Administrator and the issue will surely be resolved quickly. Once the MSP has been submitted, a Synod staff person will review the documents and give approval or suggest changes. Once the MSP is approved, the synod staff (Bishop and his associates) will begin to match candidates with the profile. Call Committee: While we are waiting for the review of Trinity s MSP to be completed, we can begin the work to elect a call committee. At the 8/13/18 meeting, the Council was presented with three possible approaches and were charged with thinking about how to structure the Call Committee The Council will decide on an approach at the September 10, 2018 Council meeting. We hope to have the Call Committee elected by the end of September. Please continue to pray for our Trinity family as we move through the call process, asking for God s guidance. Blessings to all of you, Car Show and Rally Day Sunday, August 26!! The Car Show is always a lovely day of fun and fellowship and we need volunteers to make the day successful! Thanks to Jen Donnan s inspiration and leadership, a SignUpGenius link was ed to the congregation and posted to Trinity s Facebook page, asking for volunteers the day of the Car Show. We are particularly in need of at least 4 volunteers on Saturday (8/25/18) from 6.30 pm 8.30 pm to set up barricades, post no parking signs and get the tables and chairs ready to go for Sunday morning. We are also in need of about five Grill Masters on Sunday (8/26/18). There are other opportunities on the volunteer list, too. Many hands make light work! Please consider sharing your time and talents for a portion of the day on August 26. A link to the SignUpGenius will be sent again next week. 4 Blessings Galore!! Trinity Travelers who experienced Alaska for 14 days were constantly amazed by the beauty and wonder of God s creation. Our 21 travelers traveled by plane, cruise ship (Princess Cruise Line), train (with domed ceiling), bus, (some did helicopter and trams) and small boat tours. All in all, it was awesome in every way. Cathy and Linda are grateful that everyone stayed happy and healthy and have many wonderful memories of this trip! (more information will be in the Trinity Steward) Thanks to all for being a part of this trip! And thanks to God for His caring hand and His creative handiwork!
