THE BAPTISM OF OUR LORD January 13, 2019 IN OUR PRAYERS: God invites us to cast all our cares and worries upon Him because He cares for us. Today we cast upon God those who are sick, awaiting surgery or recovering, especially Gunard Heikkila, Dan Cresswell, Greg Mickelson, Wade Salo, Lois Sailer, Chase Keskitalo, Neil Perala, Doug Weller, Georgia Bentley, Mike Baune, Jon Kumpula, Jim Nielsen, DuWayne and Mary Roberts, and Lillian Mindermann. We praise God for the gift of a baby daughter, Delores Marie Perry, born for Summer Marcell and Mason Perry. AS WE GATHER: Have you ever thought about how powerful fear and worry are in our lives? Fear takes hold. It ties us in knots and refuses to let us go. On our own, we re powerless to undo these fear knots. Only Jesus has the power to release us from their captivity. Fear not, He says to His redeemed people! You are Mine, He refreshingly reminds us. Our worship on this Baptism of Our Lord Sunday brings us with Jesus to the baptismal waters, enabling us to hear the living voice of our God as He washes us clean and makes us His own. Fear may take its hold for a moment, but Jesus hold is eternal. Fear knots may have their day. Fear not are saving words forever. 2 IMPORTANT INFORMATION TRINITY S ANNUAL MEETING is next Sunday, January 20th. There will be a potluck meal beginning at 11:30 a.m. following the late service in the fellowship hall. The Annual Business Meeting will start at 12 noon. All reports must be turned into the church office TODAY to be included in the Annual Report. Copies of the report will be available for pickup from the church narthex next Sunday, January 13th. COPIES OF THE 2018 ANNUAL REPORT are available for pickup from the kiosk in the church narthex. Please bring your copy to the annual meeting. Thanks! 2019 OFFERING ENVELOPE BOXES can be picked up from the narthex. Please note these changes. Members with offering boxes 276 to 300 in previous years have been assigned a NEW number for If you did not get offering envelopes and would like a box, or if you have been given a box and do not plan to use it, please let Kim know in the church office. 7 Coming soon to trinity s Fellowip hall Congregation Information Class January 13 and January 27, :00-6:00pm This class is for anyone that is in a new relationship with Trinity. It includes those who are looking to be a new member, have come in by transfer, affirmation of faith or would like to know better what our congregation confesses in the Christian faith. We will also explore how God works through and provides for His mission and ministry through us. Even those of you who have been lifelong members at Trinity are welcome to join us. Dinner will be served both evenings. Please contact the church office by at trinity1892@nymtrinity.org or by calling by January 7th so that we know how many to prepare dinner for and for how many materials to have on hand. Please let us know if you will also need child care during the instruction time, and we will see that we have someone available.
