View our videos at 2 Newman Catholic Schools (NCS) is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Stephen Martin as the Campus Ministry Director for Newman Catholic Middle and High School. Formerly a part-time position, the Campus Ministry Director's position will convert to fulltime in order to more fully engage the entire Faith Community. Mr. Martin will promote and sustain the pastoral, catechetical, sacramental, evangelizing, and prophetic efforts of our living Faith community. In conjunction with the schools' chaplain and principals, Mr. Martin will lead the Newman faculty and staff in their dedication to upholding the Catholic faith, fostering student achievement, and serving as a model of compassion and respect for all. His duties will include coordinating components of Liturgy and Sacraments, planning and leading retreats, facilitating student service work and overseeing community building programs. Expansion of the Campus Ministry role will include an increased focus on outreach with parishes and surrounding community. Mr. Martin will work cooperatively with area pastors, the school Chaplain, administrators, staff, and all parents and students to foster healthy and strong faith-filled relationships. Mr. Martin began serving in parish ministry while sharing his gift of music as a volunteer during Mass and at various youth ministry events, programs and retreats. Through his growing involvement in Youth Ministry, Mr. Martin began to discover a call to serve as a leader in the Church. He studied at St. Xavier University in Chicago and the University of Wisconsin. In addition, Mr. Martin completed a two year lay ministry program through the Diocese of La Crosse, received youth ministry certification through Wartburg Seminary, completed the La Crosse Diocesan Leader of Prayer Program, and attended one year of the La Crosse Diocesan Diaconate Formation Program. He has served the church for 20 years working in youth & family ministry and family faith formation. Would you like to grow in your relationship with Christ? A modest schedule of 15 paragraphs per night (roughly 3 pages) has been arranged that will take about 10 minutes of reflective reading, 5 nights a week over 38 weeks (ending mid June). Mark Your Calendars for St Matthew Parish Annual Evening of Reflection on Thursday, October 4th At St Anthony Spirituality Center Marathon Speaker: Sister Mary Agnes of Jesus, PCPA Sister Mary Agnes of Jesus grew up in southern Louisiana, the second oldest of 11 children, and entered Religious Life at the age of 18. She received her formation from Mother Angelica, the foundress of Our Lady of the Angels Monastery in Alabama who also founded the Eternal Word Television Network. Sr. Agnes assisted and worked very closely with Mother Angelica for many years including directing the nun's choir in which she expanded their use of Gregorian chant and Sacred Polyphony. Known for her joyful spirit, she works to spread devotion to the Most Blessed Sacrament, to the Child Jesus, and for beauty in the Sacred Liturgy.

3 Children s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW) Adult and Teen Leaders are Needed Children s Liturgy of the Word is held every Sunday from September May during the 10 am Mass. It is designed for children ages 4 and up. It offers the opportunity for children to hear the Scripture in words they understand. Before the First Reading at Mass, Fr Bob or Fr Peter will invite the children to come forward for a blessing and then they will go with the leader of CLOW to participate in the Children s Liturgy of the Word which includes: the Readings, Psalm, Gospel Acclamation, a brief Reflection, the Profession of Faith and Prayer of the Faithful. The children then return to church to rejoin their family for the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The leader s guides are user friendly and very little preparation is needed. Leaders can be a team, such as a parent with their teen. You decide what dates you are available, usually once a month or every 6 weeks. Training is provided.
