3 WORD Reading 1 John 5:9-13 9If we receive human testimony, the testimony of God is greater; for this is the testimony of God that he has testified to his Son. 10 Those who believe in the Son of God have the testimony in their hearts. Those who do not believe in God have made him a liar by not believing in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son. 11 And this is the testimony: God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. Schroeder Please stand Offertory Prayer Let us pray. Holy Father, we desire to be sanctified in your grace like the disciples whom Jesus commissioned with your word. We do not want to squander our lives and resources on meaningless consumption. Open our hearts and our hands to respond to giving appeals in a generous manner. Give us the courage to embrace a lifestyle centered in your teaching, rather than one dictated by marketing trends or unhealthy spending habits. We offer you these gifts as an act of responding to you in faith. Amen. 4

White grape juice is found in the smaller portion of the divided cup. Ushers will direct you to one of the communion stations. Gluten-free wafers are available at each communion station. 8 Summer Transition Program July 9-15 For the fourth summer, BEDS Plus will be hosting a Summer Transition Shelter. This scaled-down program helps clients who are waiting for identified housing and offers more intense case management than is offered in the winter months. Only the most highly motivated clients are carefully screened and invited to participate, with the program limited to a maximum of 20 clients. If you are interested in supporting this vital ministry, please contact Karen Janik at k.janik@gracelg.org. There are opportunities for site shift volunteers, laundry, breakfast supplies and simpler summer meals. 8
