We make peace with God and each other before coming to the Lord s table. The congregation may be seated. Meal Offering The February Faithful Ones are designated to support those affected by the federal government shutdown. This includes federal employees and contractors not receiving a paycheck due to the shutdown, though some have been ordered to work. These individuals are experiencing anxiety about their financial and employment future, and are having to make hard decisions about how to pay the rent and utilities, and provide food and medical care for their families. Network of Community Ministries and North Dallas Shared Ministries are two local organizations providing assistance for people in need, including food, rent, utilities and/or clothing. If you wish to offer additional funds for these ministries, please use an envelope found in the pew. Checks should be made out to King of Glory with Faithful Ones in the memo. 5 Prayer P Let us pray: God of all creation, C all you have made is good, and your love endures forever. You bring forth bread from the earth and fruit from the vine. Nourish us with these gifts, that we might be for the world signs of your gracious presence in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen. Great Thanksgiving P The Lord be with you. C And also with you. P Lift up your hearts. C We lift them to the Lord. P Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. C It is right to give our thanks and praise. Words of Institution With these words, the pastor consecrates the elements for Holy Communion. Lord s Prayer C Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Agnus Dei Distribution of Communion At King of Glory we welcome all who believe Jesus Christ is present for and with us in the bread and wine. Ushers will guide you forward to a station: take a wafer (gluten-free can be requested) and dip in the wine or white grape juice. Children and adults not communing are invited to come forward for a word of blessing. Open hands show you wish to receive communion; folded hands show you want a blessing. 6 Blessing P The body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ strengthen you and keep you in His grace. Prayer after Communion P Let us pray: We thank you, O God, that you have fed us at your banqueting table with bread and wine beyond compare, the very life of Christ for us. Send your Spirit with us now, that we may set the captive free, use your gifts to build one another up, and in everything reflect your glory revealed in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Sending Sending of Communion P O God of tender compassion, as you healed the sick and welcomed the stranger, bless those who leave this assembly to share the gifts of this table with our sisters and brothers who are sick and homebound. May they be sustained by the love and prayers of this community, and by the Bread of life that satisfies all hunger, Jesus Christ our Lord.
