Our Lady has revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary they are giving her a beautiful rose and that each complete Rosary makes her a crown of roses. The rose is the queen of flowers, and so the Rosary is the rose of all devotions and it is therefore the most important one. The Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer because within it lies the awesome story of our salvation. With the Rosary in fact we meditate the mysteries of joy, of sorrow and the glory of Jesus and Mary. It's a simple prayer, humble so much like Mary. It's a prayer we can all say together with Her, the Mother of God. With the Hail Mary we invite Her to pray for us. Our Lady always grants our request. She joins Her prayer to ours. Therefore it becomes ever more useful, because what Mary asks She always receives, Jesus can never say no to whatever His Mother asks for. In every apparition, the heavenly Mother has invited us to say the Rosary as a powerful weapon against evil, to bring us to true peace. With your prayer made together with Your heavenly Mother, you can obtain the great gift of bringing about a change of hearts and conversion. Each day, through prayer you can drive away from yourselves and from your homeland many dangers and many evils. The Blessed Holy Father John Paul II on October 16th, 2002 with the Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae on the Most Holy Rosary has added 5 new mysteries of the Rosary: The Mysteries of the Light.! " #" $ Student pictures were taken on October 2nd. If your child was absent on that day, there will be photo retakes done on Thursday, November 7th. PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITY DAY Just a reminder that there is a Professional Activity Day on Friday, October 11, There is NO SCHOOL for students on this day.

A large number of BLANK order forms were received where the student name, teacher and grade were NOT COMPLETED on the order form. Especially in the event that a cash payment is submitted without any identifying marks, there is NO WAY to know which student submitted it. This causes a great deal of difficulty when it comes to pizza distribution. PLEASE FILL IN ALL PORTIONS OF THE PIZZA ORDER FORMS. If there are any parents interested in volunteering to help distribute pizzas on Pizza Days, please leave your contact information with the office. A valid and current Police Check is required to be on file with the school. Distribution times are JK-K at 11:45am, Grades 1-8 at 12:15pm. Thank you to all of our volunteers that assist in delivering pizza to our students. MILK KICKS PROGRAM The Milk Kicks program is well underway. Fall term milk can still be ordered with distribution commencing the week following the late submission. Order forms are available online via the school website or in the office.

11 ?':CC EXPECTATIONS OF THE ONTARIO CATHOLIC SCHOOL GRADUATE CATHOLICISM'S CORE UNDERSTANDING OF THE HUMAN CONDITION Distinctive expectations for graduates of Catholic schools are determined and shaped by the vision and destiny of the human person emerging from our faith tradition. This Christian anthropology or world view, reveals the dignity and value of the person. Our tradition tells us God creatively and lovingly calls each of us into the wonder of life, sustaining us by the power of the Holy Spirit, throughout the human Journey, into life eternal. We acknowledge that the journey includes moments of brokenness and sin. We recognize in the person of Jesus, the risen Christ, the human face of God sharing our life in order to heal us of our brokenness and liberate us from sin. This Christian vision of the human journey is best understood within the context of relationship. It is accomplished in community, in solidarity with brothers and sisters in the Church and beyond. VISION OF THE LEARNER A Discerning Believer formed in the Catholic Faith Community A discerning believer formed in the Catholic Faith community who celebrates the signs and sacred mystery of God's presence through word. sacrament, prayer, forgiveness, reflection and moral living. In a society marked by personality cults, we are called to bear witness to Jesus Christ, our Savoiur and Lord, and to reverence Him in the poor, the lowly, and the marginalized. (a) Illustrates a basic understanding of the saving story of our Christian faith. (b) Participates in the sacramental life of the church and demonstrates an understanding of the centrality of the Eucharist to our Catholic story. (c) Actively reflects on God's Word as communicated through the Hebrew and Christian scriptures. (d) Develops attitudes and values founded on Catholic social teaching and acts to promote social responsibility, human solidarity and the common good. (e) Speaks the language of life... "recognizing that life is an unearned gift and that a person entrusted with life does not own it but that one is called to protect and cherish it." (Witnesses to Faith),'- Seeks intimacy with God and celebrates communion with God, others and creation through prayer and worship.,*- Understands that one s purpose or call in life comes from God and strives to discern and live out this call throughout life's journey. (h) Respects the faith traditions, world religions and the life-journeys of all people of good will. (i) Integrates faith with life. (J) Recognizes that "sin, human weakness, conflict and forgiveness are part of the human journey" and that the cross, the ultimate sign of forgiveness is at the heart of redemption.
