PRELUDE "Triumphant Voluntary" James Mansfield (Please observe this time as an opportunity for silent prayer and meditation.) CALL TO WORSHIP* To the Father who has given us every spiritual blessing in Christ. We give praise and glory To the Son through whom we have redemption, forgiveness, and the riches of God s grace. We give praise and glory To the Spirit that seals us in His promise, the guarantee of our inheritance until we possess it. We give praise and glory. RECOGNITION OF GUESTS w RITUAL OF FRIENDSHIP w OPENING HYMN, No. 206 UMH I Want to Walk as a Child of the Light LIGHTING OF THE ADVENT CANDLE {On Screen} The Advent Candle will be lit by Rick & Jan Moberg at the 8:30 service, Allison Brabrand at the 9:45 service and The Velez Family at the 11:00 service. CONCERNS AND CELEBRATIONS UNISON PRAYER** Father of Rahab, teach us to see our enemies through your eyes and with your grace. Remind us that your love does not run out once it hits the threshold of our churches or our nation, but extends to even the most foreign and offensive person to us. Let us not give in to the temptations to divide your world too easily between insiders and outsiders, but let us embrace the ambiguities of reality that you came to seek and save sinners, of whom we are the worst. PASTORAL PRAYER THE LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

2 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. ANTHEM, Whisper! Whisper!
