5 We have a BUS! You might have noticed a new addition to our parking lot. Thanks to your prayers and donations we have been able to purchase a bus for LUMC. A 2006 Ford E450 handicapped-accessible 18 passenger bus was purchased on 12/14/2016 at a cost of $25,500. The mileage on the bus is 22,500 and it is in great shape (per our mechanic s review)! We have purchased a license plate and insurance and it is almost ready to roll. We are continuing to discuss plans for the bus including lettering, a usage policy and list of drivers etc... that will be submitted to the church Transportation Committee for review. If you have an up-to-date Commercial Driver s License (CDL) and would be interested in being on the list of possible drivers or interested in obtaining your CDL, please let the bus committee or church office know. Thanks. The Bus Committee WE WOULD REALLY LIKE MORE VOLUNTEERS FOR OUR NURSERY! You can sign up online at or use the 6-month volunteer calendar sign up sheets located in the preschool lobby beside the front door. Thank you for volunteering! You are appreciated! You can also sign up for the nursery by calling Tracy Conner ( ) or June Hayes ( ) if you prefer. To our wonderful church family, We would like to thank each and every one of you that participated in the 3 rd annual Heaven s Kitchen Cook-Off sponsored by the Catalyst Youth mission team to Guatemala. To all of the wonderful cooks who prepared the food we thank you!!! Yum! Everything was delicious! To all of the folks who came out and supported the event we thank you! You helped us raise $1,681! Wow, what a blessing. Special thanks go out to our distinguished judges, Pastor Ivan, Dean Norman, Paul Mullican, George Stilphen, Rhys Long and Leane Peddycord. Congratulations to our winners! Rob Slaughter won the Chili category, Pastor Susan won the dessert category, and Joy Googe won the cornbread category. Heaven s Kitchen Cook-Off was a wonderful night of fun and fellowship. The proceeds from this event will allow the Catalyst Youth Mission Team going to Guatemala to bless many people in need and to share God s love with them. Thank You and God bless you all!
