HELLO BUTLER! My name is Father Dan Waruszewski and I m excited to be here. I look forward to growing with you together towards Jesus Christ, and His wonderful plan for our lives.

4 HELLO BUTLER! My name is Father Dan Waruszewski and I m excited to be here. I look forward to growing with you together towards Jesus Christ, and His wonderful plan for our lives. I hope to get to know more about you in the coming weeks and here is a bit about me. I grew up in West View, PA and first heard the call to the priesthood in 7th grade at a daily Mass. I just knew I had to be on the other side of the altar someday. Before priesthood I was an IT specialist, earning a BS in CIS from St. Vincent College. I also spent a year doing youth ministry retreats across the country with NET ministries. In seminary, I started out at St. Paul and Duquesne in Pittsburgh and finished out Theology at Catholic U in our nation s capital, Washing, D. C. After ordination in June 2017, I spent the last 15 months in another Washington, Washington PA. I gained a lot of experience and good friends at our fellow county seat to the south. Exploring Butler I ve been impressed with the many restaurants in this very walkable downtown, the Butler-Freeport trail (I m an avid cyclist) and of course the many beautiful churches. But I look forward most to getting to know and love each and every one of you. I love being a priest, being a bridge between God and humanity and can t wait to see what God has in store for us up here if we only surrender to Him. As our bishop would say, grateful that nothing is impossible with God I am, Father Dan Waruszewski - proud to be a Parochial Vicar in Butler. For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jer 29:11

5 ST. ANDREW RAFFLE For our 50/50 Raffle to be successful we must have parish participation. We ask each family to take two books to sell or buy. A book of tickets cost $5.00. You can get tickets at the church entrances after Masses or stop in or call the rectory office at YOUTH GROUP PANCAKE BREAKFAST Our Youth Group will hold a Pancake & Sausage Breakfast in our CCD Hall today, November 4, starting at noon. Enjoy pancakes, sausage, orange juice, and drinks. SHAWL ~ CRAFT MINISTRY Our Shawl~Craft Ministry will meet from 10:00am-noon on Tuesday, November 13, in the CCD Hall. Come, join the fun of making teddy bears and shawls for our newly baptized babies, and shawls and tote bags for our shut-ins. All are welcome. BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY Our Bereavement Ministry, under the direction of Sister Michelle Farabaugh OSB, retired Psychiatric Social Worker, will be held on Wednesday, November 14, at 2:00pm in the CCD Hall. ON MISSION FOR THE CHURCH ALIVE! Love Your Neighbor As Yourself - As we hear these words proclaimed in the Gospel today, we encounter them in the context of last week s massacre of 11 souls as they gathered to worship God. Their peaceful morning was shattered by the violence and hatred of one person whose actions cannot be comprehended with reason. While sorrow fills our hearts because of 11 lives lost and so many more affected by this tragedy, the response in our places of worship and in our communities has not been to fight hatred with hatred, but to overcome evil with love - to love our neighbors as ourselves. In times of tragedy, the inspiration of the Spirit of God works overtime to strengthen the resilience of the human spirit so that we not only work to build stronger communities, but also to look deep within ourselves and work to root out anything that seeks to divide us from God and others. This is not only effective as a response to tragedy, but for every aspect of our lives and our relationships we seek to build up. May this call and desire to love our neighbors as ourselves not only overcome hatred and division in the world, but also strengthen the Church as we continue our journey On Mission for The Church Alive!
