This weekend, our lovely Sisters in Stitches will be selling their handmade treasures and will be graciously donating all profits towards Saint Paul.

We re putting up Christmas decorations on Sunday, December 2 immediately following the 10:00am service. Many hands make light the task and cut the time needed too!

This weekend, our lovely Sisters in Stitches will be selling their handmade treasures and will be graciously donating all profits towards Saint Paul. Visit their tables in the narthex before & after all worship services! CAN YOU HELP WITH CHURCH DECORATING? We re putting up Christmas decorations on Sunday, December 2 immediately following the 10:00am service. Many hands make light the task and cut the time needed too! We have a few trees, lots of garland and some other decorations. We especially need able bodies to climb ladders to put up the front wreaths. CONGREGATION CHRISTMAS CARD is an easy way to send wishes to your church family & friends without purchasing cards, postage, and especially, your time. Beginning the weekend of December 1-2, you can pick up an envelope from the table (in the narthex by the banner), fill out the needed information, put in your donation, and place it in the offering plate. Your name(s) will appear on a star, on the banner, for all to see. A complete list of names will be published in TTW. All proceeds will benefit the LCC Comfort Dogs and Pastor Leif Camp. P.S. SAVE THE DATE! BETHLEHEM WALK On Sunday, December 9 at 4:00pm, come travel to Bethlehem with a shepherd as you find angels, wisemen, King Herod, and animals too! We ll all look for the Baby Jesus! LCFS CHRISTMAS TOY DRIVE This holiday season, you can help bring smiles to the children in the Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois care by giving new & UNwrapped gifts for foster children. ANGEL TREE Please look for the Angel Tree and tags at church beginning the weekend of November 17/18. Every year our congregation is very generous with this mission of reaching out to children of incarcerated individuals and we are praying that this year is no different. We have been assigned 75 children this year!! Please try to stay within the price range of $15-$25, (unless it is an essential such as a coat or boots!). If items requested cost more than $25, consider a gift card. Also, gift receipts are welcome in case the item does not fit. This ministry is a blessing to many including our congregation! 4 Other OMISSIONS PARTNER WITH THE SAINT PAUL DISASTER RELIEF TEAM A team of Saint Paul members will be in North Carolina (Dec 8-16) serving families whose homes were damaged by Hurricane Harvey. The team will help homeowners clean-out and repair their homes - many of which are still not habitable. Do you wish to be a part of the team but are unable to go to NC to help? Here are ways you can still be an integral part of the team: 1) Be a Prayer Partner: Please pray for the team and those they serve. Ask God to grant the team and homeowners safety and strength and that the love of Christ shines brightly through each team member. 2) Be a Stewardship Partner: Please consider a financial donation. Your donation will help pay for the team s expenses as well as tools and supplies for the volunteer camp. Please place your donation in an envelope marked "Hurricane Harvey Team" and drop it in the collection basket or leave it at the church office. Thank you for your support. For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function,...so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us." YSLETA MISSION TEAM We re working on trip details. Deposits are due by Saturday, December 15. If you can let Dari know if you are planning on going ahead of time, that would be great! VOLUNTEER DATA BASE NEEDS UPDATING Four years ago we started a data base to help complete projects that come up, helping people in our congregation, our community as well as at church. We just pulled together an online version of this form (thanks Krista Siedemann) to make this so easy! You just type a little click a little and it s done! Please take a few minutes ot check it out! We used that to find movers, drivers, stuffers, data entry volunteer, bakers, handymen and women and more in the last year! We will also have printed copies available at the welcome center if that is more comfortable for you! Thanks for being willing to be the hands and feet of Jesus! THANK YOU SHOE DRIVE HAS ENDED Thank you to everyone that donated shoes! We collected over 2,700 pairs and raised close to $1,000 for the youth to attend the National Youth Gathering in July! These shoes will be shipped to under developed nations. Micro entrepreneurs will use them to create shoe stores for those in need. Special thanks to Gina McDonough, Wendy Brennan, and Barb Meier for loading bags and to Kori Holtmeier and Christie Krebs who spread the word to so may friends and family and brought in well over 100 pairs of shoes each! The next drive will be in 2 years, in FALL 2020.
