With both trailers here, St. James is busy preparing Join us Under the Tent the week of April 15 21st as we work together, fellowship thru meals, and serve our local community during the 26th annual Spring Fling Event. This is THE EVENT that has Greenville talking and lining up early Every. Single. Year! You don't want to miss it - Big jobs and small jobs - all are important, and we have a place for EVERYONE to help under the tent dawn to dusk, pick your time - all week long. Mark your calendars now and plan to be part of the body of Christ in action as we help local organizations. Our 2018 recipients are: CareNet Counseling East (CNCE) Operation Sunshine, INC. Greenville Learning Center Greenville Learning Center Wahl Coates Elementary School Riley s Army and Love a Sea Turtle Back to Basics: A Confirmation Refresher For many of us, it's been a while since we were confirmed. For others, we are relatively new to the faith. This Spring, we want to offer a short "Confirmation Refresher" course to help build confidence. This is open to all! Each organization will have designated tent space on Spring Fling day - April 21st - for the community to learn more about the services they provide. They will also be here the week prior helping us prepare for the big day, so be sure to mingle and find out more about them. You haven t experienced the spirit of St. James until you ve experienced what Spring Fling has to offer all week long, so come out and Join us Under the Tent! A big Thank You to this year's Spring Fling committee, working behind the scenes now to make it all happen again! Holy Week Events March 28th - Maundy Thursday Service,, Christian Life Ministries Center March 29th - Good Friday Service, 6:30 pm, Sanctuary April 1st - Easter Sunrise Service, 6:30 AM, in the East Field outside the Christian Life Ministries Center (CLMC). Communion will follow in the CLMC. April 1st - Easter Breakfast, 7:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall April 1st - Family Easter Egg Hunt, 10:00 AM, in the East Field outside the Christian Life Ministries Center April 1st - Easter Services, 8:45 AM & 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary / 9:00 AM & 11:11 AM in the Christian Life Ministries Center We will gather on Wednesday evenings. From 6:15-7:00, we'll have a large group presentation. Then we will break into small group discussions from 7:00-7:30. Topics include Bible, Christian History, Theology, Wesleyan Distinctives, and Discipleship. We will be raising money for the Community Crossroads Center throughout this semester by gathering "sponsors" to donate $25 each. 10th Anniversary of the Prayer Shawl Ministry Spring Fling Bake Sale There will not be a bazaar this year at Spring Fling, but that means we have more room for our famous bake sale! We need your help and your creations to make it extra special. That doesn t mean just sweets. Think of the possibilities all kinds of casseroles both larger and smaller sizes, soups, twice baked potatoes, chicken salad, pimento cheese, etc. And don t forget sour dough bread. Make things ahead of time and freeze them if needed. We will have a freezer and refrigerator. You may start bringing items to the church on Thursday, April 19th. Please pre-package and label items. We can help with labels if we know ahead of time. If you have any questions, contact Linda On March 17, 2008 Peggy Fulcher had a vision and began the St. James Prayer Shawl Ministry. It has blessed too many to count; from the recipients and their families, to the members. The Ministry has provided 50 helmet liners to Afghanistan, shawls to tornado victims in Oklahoma, blankets to Ronald McDonald House and the Children's Hospital, premie blankets and hats to the Family Support Network, shawls and lap robes to Hospice and University Health Care and items to our Keep God's Children Warm Ministry. Most recently, 1200 Prayer Cloths were given to Greenville Police officers, Pitt County deputies and Pitt County Fire/ Rescue volunteers. Wahl-Coates school received 20 lap robes for students in wheelchairs and 84 red baby caps were made for February newborns at Vidant, an American Heart Association project. Over 1300 shawls, lap robes and blankets have been given to date and with them prayers, comfort and the love of Jesus. Join us in celebrating this wonderful ministry!

Cancer is a disease that has touched every one of our lives, either personally or a loved ones. Isn t it time that we do something about it? Isn t it time to fight back? This is a joint mission project with our North Carolina Conference and the Western NC Conference. Filled shoe boxes are distributed to the children of Armenia. As you prepare for Easter worship, pick fresh flowers from your garden or yard and bring them with you to the church. As you arrive, come to the main entrance in front of The Commons, stand before the large cross and place your flowers upon it. A symbol of death, darkness, pain and hopelessness is transformed into something beautiful, new and alive in celebration of the Resurrection of Christ. Together, we can transform the cross and help make this Easter a celebration of new life.
