We are greatly honoured to welcome the Rev. Dr. Brian Haymes into our midst as Interim Minister during May and June. He will be preaching both morning and evening services during this time and is available in the minister s study at various times of the week by appointment. Dr. Haymes, who has been a guest here on several occasions, comes to us from England where he has served as principal of two Baptist seminaries and as pastor in some of the denomination s leading pulpits. He is joined by his wife Jenny. Dr. Haymes has written and contributed to several books. Please keep him in your prayers during this season. 5 Welcoming Elie and Mirelle Haddad, Lebanon to YPBC On Sunday June 19, Elie Haddad, President of the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary, (ABTS) Lebanon, will be with us in our morning worship service for a Window on the World. An informal reception will be held in the Friendship Room following the service to provide an opportunity to meet Elie and Mirelle and everyone is invited. Elie and Mirelle moved from Toronto, back to Lebanon as CBM Global Field Staff in July The ABTS serves the Church by equipping faithful men and women to become leaders in the Church and out into the world as an extension of the mission of the Church. Mirelle volunteers in different ministries at the seminary, an orphanage, a seniors home and also serves in women s ministries. Mirelle has a degree in Interior Design from the l Academie Libanaise des Beaux Arts and training in Computer Graphics from the International Academy of Design in Toronto. Elie was a senior technical consultant in the field of Information Technology. He has a Master of Theological Studies from Tyndale Seminary and is working on his PhD at the International Baptist Theological Seminary in Prague. His focus is Missional Ecclesiology. Please join us in welcoming and encouraging Elie and Mirelle, our STEP partners. CONGRATULATIONS to Nabil Costa, Executive Director of the Lebanese Society for Educational and Social Development (also known as the Lebanese Baptist Society) and our STEP partner. In recognition of Nabil's dedicated work in Lebanon and the region, an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters was conferred on Nabil by Samford University, Alabama, May 14 at the commencement ceremony. We rejoice in this honoring of Nabil and his leadership of the LSESD in Lebanon and its impact on the surrounding region YPBC Board of Mission Summer programs for children! We are delighted to provide a summer Sunday Program for children, Nursery to age 10. We need some help to provide a safe and happy class. Teachers and helpers who help during the year get the summer off. So here s your chance to try Children s Ministries. (No obligation visit! ) Yorkminster Park will host a summer kids event called PandaMania from July 25th to July 29 th running from 9 to noon. PandaMania is for children going into JK in September to Grade 5. Meet new friends, enjoy amazing crafts, games and snacks, learn through Bible adventures and incredible music.
