For the last few week, as we conclude these summer months, we have been looking at the tail-end of this most inspiring book, the book of Hebrews. It always amazes me how relevant the messages to people and places in Biblical times can still apply to us, the Church today. In the 10 th chapter, we see our significant privileges associated with our new life in Christ. We have personal access to God through Christ and can draw near to Him without an elaborate system. We may grow in faith, overcome doubts and questions, and deepen our relationship with God. We may enjoy encouragement from one another. And we may worship together. To neglect Christian meetings is to give up the encouragement and help of other Christians. Difficulties should never be excuses for missing church services. Rather, as difficulties arise, we should make an even greater effort to be faithful in attendance. In chapter 11, two words describe faith: sure and certain. These two qualities need a secure beginning and ending point. The beginning point of From the Desk of Interim Pastor Dan Craig faith is believing in God s character He is who He says. The end point is believing in God s promises He will fulfill his promises even though we don t see those promises materializing yet, we demonstrate true faith. Abraham s life was filled with faith. It requires us to give up whatever endangers our relationship with God, to run patiently, and to struggle against sin with the power of the Holy Spirit. When we face hardship and discouragement, it is easy to lose sight of the big picture. But we re not alone; there is help. We must remember also, that God disciplines those He loves, to set again our path towards Him. And in chapter 13, we learn that real love for others produces tangible action, kindness to strangers, empathy for those who are in prison and those who have been mistreated, respect for your marriage vows, and contentment with what we have. We make sure that our love runs deep enough to affect your hospitality, empathy, fidelity, and contentment. This book is filled with goodies we all can use. Take time to read and apply these great truths. Pastor Dan 11 * Coffee Fell. with Berean Class in charge 2 pm Private use of Wm. August 2016 Greetings to you in the Name of Jesus Christ. We are doing well. We continue to send literature at a record pace. As I write this we are already at 820 tons of literature shipped. Please pray for the staff here, we have been booked solid, with volunteers coming in to help us from all over the country. It has been many days of hard work and we all are a bit tired. We are taking over another ministry in Decatur AL - Edwin L Hodges Ministry. That ministry currently ships about tons of literature each year. Jason will be leaving here September 1st. And going there to manage it. All the legal work is not done yet so pray that God would give us wisdom to accomplish the transition. With Jason leaving that would leave us needing to replace him. All of this will require a great deal of wisdom and prayer. Please pray for us concerning this. Thank remains you for standing page 7 with us. Yours Change for souls other page 7 to Steven J Schmidt page 11 Testimonies From Around the World Kenya: Hope all is well sir. I just wanted to encourage you that despite the challenges, despite the costs, LIVES ARE BEING CHANGED, we are placing Bibles in the hands of people who would not afford to buy one. We hear of testimonies of improvement in ministry and increment growth in Sunday school (children) attendance and many more. That is what motivates me. You may not know how much your ministry has touched lives over here or elsewhere. Only eternity will reveal and reward you. So let s keep on keeping on sir. God Bless. South Africa: I trust you are well. My name is Clive. I am an inmate at Pollsmoor Prison. I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the prisoners to thank you for the free books and Study Guides on the Bible. The Explore the Bible study guides have been a Godsend to us prisoners. The books make the classes so enjoyable with the study guides and after class we get to take our study guides back to our cells to do the homework. We really enjoy the homework in our cells as it gives us something positive and constructive to do. We also thoroughly enjoyed reading Prison to Praise and it s amazing how giving praise in all circumstances does really work. Your books and study guides have played a big part in bringing me and the other prisoners closer to God and understanding the salvation that God offers to sinners. That there is still hope for a second change at life even for maximum sentenced prisoners.
