Pastor s Corner Psalm 42:1 beautifully states, As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. When they started attending the church I served we went to visit them. He was a law professor, she a stay at home mother and they had two small sons. I knew they had attended several churches in the area and tended not to stay in one place too long. She explained that when she first made her profession of faith she was part of a church that for her was filled with excitement and delight. They had to move from that community and she had been searching unsuccessfully for a church like that ever since. As you can probably guess she did not stay long with us. In fact, she left her family. He and the boys continued attending and remained active in our fellowship. Like many others she was chasing an experience when she needed to be chasing a relationship with God. Many begin their faith journey as they begin marriage, with a honey moon. However, honeymoons are not meant to last. The exciting trip is left behind. The extravagant meals are too costly for everyday life. We come home to jobs, families, chores and bills. But in a good marriage it is not always about the excitement, it is about the love you share with one another. In the life of a Christian it is about the love you share with Jesus. It is not always going to be fun and games. Christ said in John 16:33, in the world ye shall have tribulation. He makes it clear that problems will come but He promises He will never leave us or forsake us. That being said, we still need a little excitement from time to time. In marriage it is good to have a date night once in a while. Revival is a date night with Jesus. We dress up, we enjoy the good company of our Christian friends, but most of all we take the time to refresh our love for Christ. March is the time set aside for Spring Revival here at Richmond Hill. The Reverend John Hamric will be our guest speaker. John has been a pastor for over two decades and before that served as a youth pastor. Oh, yes, he is my brother too. Some of you have met him, many have not. As we prepare, let us remember the purpose for revival. Let s rekindle our love for Jesus. God bless you, Pastor Will

4 Ministries and Missions Prayers & Squares Quilts have been dedicated recently for Raelynn Nicole Hutchens, Odell Mendenhall, Jimmy Coe, Kim Spillman, Jennifer Kiger, Lloyd McCormick, Vinson Matthews, and Linda Myers. Please continue to pray for these names as well as others who have received our quilts/prayers in the past. In addition to our prayer quilts, we are completing several quilts for the Victory Junction Camp in Randleman. This has broadened our creative skills as well as hopefully brightening the lives of young campers who will receive the quilts at their camp this summer. Church Library Many Southern Baptists know Annie Armstrong only as the namesake of our annual Easter offering for North American missions. But according to church historians, she was also one of the primary shapers of the modern Southern Baptist Convention. She helped found the Woman's Missionary Union in 1888 and served as its inaugural corresponding secretary. It has been said that many missionaries could not have done their work without her help. Our library contains the book The Pen is Mightier Than the Sword - The Story of Annie Armstrong. It is important that we pass on our heritage of missions and sharing the gospel to the world. Children's Book Donation: Yadkinville Elementary is collecting books for students to read over summer. Most of our children don't have any literature in their homes and we want to provide books to our students through donated books. If you have any books at your house that you would like to donate or no longer have a need for them, please drop it off in the yellow box in the lobby of the FLC. If you don't have books, but would like to make a small donation, please see Jamie Sloan. Teachers can purchase 1.00 books and get books from used book stores and Goodwill as well. Thank you for your support! Sisters at Heart: Will meet Monday, March 6 at 7 pm in FLC. April Meeting: The Ladies Spring Celebration will be held at Enon on Thursday, April 6th. Tickets are $15 and Mechelle will get our tickets so see her before, or at our March meeting to get your tickets May Meeting: We plan to attend the 104th WMU Annual meeting to be held at Shady Grove Bapt. Church on Monday, May 8 at 7 pm. Purple Hats: Will meet March 21 and April 11. *** Please remember to send your May/June 2017 Items by the Deadline of Wednesday, April 26, Thank you. *** For any news for the May/June 2017 newsletter, please to Wanda Poindexter at wpoinde@yadtel.net or call Allen or Wanda Poindexter at Thank You!
