It promises to be a busy season with communal penance services and the traditional devotions that are part of the Lenten Season. We also have opportunities for Adult Education that will be practical and informative. Please be looking for the Bulletin after Mass as a complete schedule has been posted. As you experience the Lenten days ahead, may you know His love for you in a personal way as He is a God who seeks to be a part of each of your lives. On a side note, this year I decided to raise my gift to the parish from twenty dollars to twenty-five a week. It may not seem that much but every bit counts. Keeping in mind that items are only going up and we as a church have to pay as well. Things like insurance, which will certainly increase after Harvey. We pay salaries, benefits and Cathedraticum Tax, which is 10 percent of the total collections for the year. We also pay for utilities, and as you know, these items increase often. We pay people to clean the church, offices and meeting rooms, along with the upkeep of the yard and garden. These are just a few items that we pay. So, I ask you in all humility and kindness if it might be possible to increase your gift by five dollars a week? It will truly be appreciated and used responsibly. Also, online giving is a most practical way to tithe. May God bless you for all that you have done for the parish and all that you will do. I am blessed to be walking this journey of faith with all of you as we look toward the heavenly Jerusalem. Services will begin again on Wednesday, April 4th. Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays from 10am - 2pm Starts Saturday February 3rd - Monday, April 16th Records to bring: Picture ID for tax payer and spouse Social Security / ITIN cards for all persons on the return Tax info- Forms W-2, 1099's etc. Prior year's tax return if available Springtimers are looking for couples who have been married for 50, 55, 60 and 65+ years. Don t play cards or Dominoes? Bring your own game, yarn craft, cross stitch, or whatever, and come join the party on Tuesdays from 9am to 12Noon with Springtimers in the Parish Hall. The Parish Office will be closed Holy Thursday afternoon, and all day on Good Friday and Easter Monday. The Parish Office will be opened with its regular hours on Tuesday, April 3rd. Morning Mass will NOT be offered on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Tuesday (4/2) through Easter Friday (4/5). Confessions will NOT be heard during Holy Week or Easter Week. Confessions will resume April 7th. St. James VBS will be held from June 11th thru June 15th. From 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. The fee is $25.00 per child. Together in Holiness Marriage Conference Saturday, May 5, :30AM to 3:30PM Two Locations: St. Laurence in Sugar Land, and St. Anthony of Padua in The Woodlands The St. John Paul II Foundation presents the 4 th annual Together in Holiness conference, in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. This oneday event includes dynamic presentations, Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Featured speakers are Father Mitch Pacwa S.J. and Patty Schneier, and a third session will feature local leaders in a panel discussion on parenting and virtue for men and for women. On-site childcare is available (2-12yrs), pre-registration required. Cost: $59/couple or $35/individual. An early bird discount is available until March 30 and scholarships are also available.
