Shows run for approximately six weeks. Display space for 3-D work is limited unless it is able to be hung. Artists of all mediums are encouraged to apply. 2 THE CASE OF THE MISSING CARTS You might be saying to yourself.. Is this the beginning of a Nancy Drew book? No, it isn t but it is a plea for anyone who takes a cart from either the garage or first floor area to tote your whatevers home. It is so handy to have these small carts, but lately it seems that many people do not bother returning them to their place of origin. You must do that Please remember that they are for everyone s use. It is unfair to the rest of us to arrive in need of one and find the area empty. There are two hotel-type luggage carts and about eight of the smaller ones. Please be kind to your neighbors and return them as soon as possible. Resident s Council CHERRY BLOSSOM WATCH It is still too early for us to see the cherry blossoms. As of March 12 th, they are predicted to blossom between March 27 th and April 3 rd. The dates may change, but just know we are keeping track. Once they blossom, we will have bus tours into D.C to see the blossoms. We will post more information as blossom time gets closer. FILM FROM POLAND The next film for the Foreign Flick Nights will be shown Sunday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m. The selection is "Ida," a movie from Poland which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2015.

Again, for those interested, we'll have a brief discussion period after the showing. Lee Lederer PASSOVER SEDER MEAL Tuesday, March 27, we will celebrate a simple Passover Seder meal at 4:30 p.m. in the Auditorium.

3 FILM FROM POLAND The next film for the Foreign Flick Nights will be shown Sunday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m. The selection is "Ida," a movie from Poland which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in It tells the story of Anna, a young novitiate nun in 1960s Poland who discovers she has a relative with a family secret going back to the years of the German occupation. Again, for those interested, we'll have a brief discussion period after the showing. 4 PALM SUNDAY Friday, March 23, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon in the Solarium, we will be making the palm crosses used in the services on Palm Sunday. The palm crosses are also distributed to residents in the Health Care Center, Assisted Living, and Stonebrook. We will be making approximately 200 crosses. Instructions will be provided. Palm Sunday, March 25, we will have the Liturgy of the Palms and dramatic reading of the Passion according to St. Mark at 9:00 a.m. in the Chapel and 10:30a.m. in Auditorium AB. SPECIAL GUEST AT TOWN HALL Susan Hinderleider, the President of Virginia Continuing Care Residents Association (VaCCRA), will be presenting at this week s Town Hall meeting. VaCCRA is an educational and advocacy organization formed to promote the interests of the residents of CCRCs in Virginia. Mrs. Hinderleider will introduce the organization, discuss areas of focus for the group, and suggest how VaCCRA GOOD FRIDAY AT THE NATIONAL GALLERY Chaplain Bruce will be leading the 32 nd annual Good Friday gathering at the National Gallery of Art from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 30, with The Stations of the Cross by Barnett Newman in the Tower 1 Gallery of the East Building. Chaplain Bruce will provide an introduction to the artist, the artwork, and the tradition of the Stations of the Cross, followed by time for personal contemplation and meditation.
