RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR Now is the time to RE register your children for their faith formation classes in September. To re-register simply fill out our handy on line form (this allows us to update your contact information). We will happily collect your registration fee. ($100 per child) To register for the FIRST time you may fill out the registration form on our parish website: and then call Jayne to make an appointment for a face to face conversation about how to fully enter into the life of this parish community and the faith formation process. We need your special gifts here at St Francis and we look forward to growing in faith with you and your family. Meet the Music Ministers The SFDS Choir is excited to announce a brand new program. Starting on Monday, May 23 rd at 7:00, the choir will be hosting monthly a Meet and Greet in the Parish House. There will be food, drink, fellowship, prayer, information and some light singing. It will provide us a great opportunity to meet one another. There is ABSOLUTELY NO obligation, just a time to consider becoming more actively involved in our community. We hope you consider coming to this event. ST. Today Sunday May 22, we would like to take the opportunity to say Thank You to our 11:00 Mass choir for all their beautiful music this past year. We thought it would be a great time to host a special brunch for them, and for all of us to gather to reflect on all that has been so wonderful this year and perhaps recruit new choir members!! SFDS Catholic Softball Team Our softball team will be playing in style this year thanks to The District Bar & Restaurant. The District sponsored this year's softball team jerseys! The District is located on 3rd Avenue and 94th Street and is open from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm (weekdays) or midnight (weekends). They believe strongly in giving back to their local community and supporting local efforts including local churches, youth groups and more. On Saturday OCTOBER 1 ST, we are happy to announce we have planned a PARISH RETREAT DAY with our new friend, SR. DONNA CIANGIO, O.P. The Retreat will be on The Spirituality of Ministry and we will be heading up the river to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers Center to enjoy their gracious hospitality. (and hopefully some beautiful autumn weather and leaf peeping!!) We are planning this day for all who serve here at St Francis de Sales in ministry as well as for all who would like to participate more in the life of our parish. The cost of the retreat will be determined once we know how many people are attending and we know how much food and transportation will cost. We are asking each of you to do TWO things: to mark off this date on your calendar NOW and to us NOW (jayneporcelli@sfdsnyc.org) and let us know you want to attend.
