The Chapel is located at the exit driveway of the church parking lot leading to Wilson Ave. Baptism ~ Pre Jordan *The next date for PreJordan is: JUNE 8 Baptisms are celebrated on Sundays at 1:15 PM with the exception of the 4 th Sunday of each month, when Baptisms are celebrated at the 12:00 Noon Mass. Parents are required to attend a Pre-Jordan Class before setting up a date for Baptism. Pre-Jordan Class is held on the 2 nd Monday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Parish Center, with some exceptions. *Please consult Parish Bulletin or Website to verify* Marriage Couples intending to marry should contact one of the priests for an appointment to set a date. By Archdiocesan policy, this must be done at least six months prior to the date. Anointing of the Sick Sunday at Mass or Upon request - contact one of the priests at the rectory in case of serious illness. Reconciliation (Confession) Anytime by appointment Saturday: 3:30-4:30 PM Visitation of the Sick If you or someone in your family is HOMEBOUND due to illness, disability, or advanced age, please call Sr. Bridget at the Parish Center ( ) so arrangements can be made to bring Holy Communion. Also, please let us know when someone is in the hospital. Legion of Mary Meets each Monday from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM in the Rectory. Senior Citizens Sacred Heart Social Club, an Archdiocesan Organization, meets on the first and third Mondays of each month at 1:00 PM in the cafeteria. I rejoice in your presence with our worshiping community as we celebrate our Eucharistic Liturgy for the Seventh Sunday of Easter. You bless us through your prayerful participation! Thanks for joining us! Our C.C.D. Program closed out its year of religious instruction with a Prayer Service this past Monday. I thank Sister Kate for guiding our teachers and staff. Special thanks go out to the volunteers who share their time in providing religious instruction for the children of our Parish community. We are blessed to have you teach and guide our children in living and learning about their Catholic faith. On behalf of our Parish community, I extend to the 100+ volunteers in the Religious Education Program our gratitude and appreciation. Thanks! This weekend, I invite you to elect two new members of our Parish Pastoral Council. A ballot is enclosed in today s bulletin. Pictures of the nominees can be found under the choir loft and at the handicap entrance. Check out the nominees and select two! I am grateful to all parishioners who were able to accept the nomination and are willing to serve a three-year term. I m just sorry that only two nominees will be elected. I also want to thank Linda Ficco and Joe DeMarco for their three years of service on the Pastoral Council. Their insights and comments always enlivened our conversations. Thanks Linda and Joe!! For some Christians, the Holy Spirit is kind of like the forgotten God, as Francis Chan expressed it. We talk much of God, or Jesus, but the Spirit gets less attention. Pentecost is worth celebrating if, for no other reason, we celebrate the Holy Spirit. 2. It reminds us of the power of the Holy Spirit. If a single word could be used to describe the events on Pentecost, it would be the word power. When several dozen men and women proclaim the truth among thousands of people, each one hearing them in his own language, you know something powerful is at work...to be continued 6
