Weekly Reflection FOR THE GLORY OF GOD The en re history of the Jewish people is directed toward one goal: that God might be glorified through the chosen people. Chris ans, too, are called to "do everything for the glory of God." In today's scriptures Paul reminds us that the best way for us to glorify God is to seek to benefit "the many," as Christ did when he shed his blood for all of humankind. The reading from Levi cus explains one way the Jews sought to benefit the many, by keeping lepers and leprosy away from the chosen people. Jesus finds a be er way. He cures the leper, who immediately re enters the community to spread the good news about Jesus to everyone who will listen. In this way both Jesus and the leper fulfill their calling to glorify the God who fills us "with the joy of salva on." Rev. Soup Suppers Dear Parishioners, In light of the Lenten season we are about to begin, I would like to invite us all to join our parish for a Soup Supper every Friday during Lent to be served at 6:00 p.m. in O Doherty Hall commencing Friday February 20th. The homemade soups will be made and served by the ministries of St. Peter s Church. There is no charge for the suppers but dona ons are welcomed to help the poor and the needy in our community. The Holy Family Prayer Group meets every Tuesday at 3:00 p.m., the mercy hour, in the chapel during Adora on. We pray for all needs; sickness, crisis, joy, comfort, peace, etc. Our goal is to meet the needs of the many through group prayer, visita ons and individual home prayer. We are open to those who wish to join this group.
