My concern is for their safety, that is, a child could open the door and go outside on their own. Or God forbid, a stranger could enter with a bad intention. A child could be playing around with each other and cause an injury by accident. I want to recommend that the parents organize a plan so that one adult will keep watch in the lobby while the children are there, or all parents should keep their little ones within eye site all the time. My main concern for all our Parish Family is zero tragedy. OUR ANNUAL FOOD COLLECTION FOR THANKSGIVING Please make donations of food and cash offerings for food gift cards for those in need for Thanksgiving. Please help fill the tubs available in the lobby with food products. Please use the special envelopes available on the back table for cash donations for the purchase of gift cards. Thank you again and again for all the good you do all year long and especially during this holiday season. WHO TOOK PICTURES? Everyone who took photos the day of our ribbon cutting celebration in the new hall way a few weeks ago are asked to please make copies for me As Soon As Possible. 3 A BOOK DRIVE TO BENEFIT ST. JUDE CHILDREN S HOSPITAL Please donate books for the young children and for children from 1 st grade and up for the young patients at St. Jude Hospital in Memphis Tennessee. This special gift fund raiser is being led by one of our High School Student s, Colette Shamatta and her School in Medina, Ohio. A special container is available for your book donations in the church lobby. Thank you so much. RECYCLE Paper Here Remember as the seasons change and you find yourself clearing out the basement and garage that we still have a PAPER RECYCLING program here at Our Lady of the Cedars. The scrap newspapers, cardboard, and paper packaging that collects is perfect to deposit in our Green Bins! Every paper product donated adds up to money for our church! THANK YOU!! ON THANKSGIVING DAY THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23 The morning Divine Liturgy will be at 9:00 am. Try to make your very first thanksgiving of this day to our Good God by attending the morning Mass. What a beautiful day this National Holiday is. ************************************** GREAT PLANS SET FOR THE FEAST OF ST. MARON ON SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2017 Each year we honor and celebrate the precious gift from God, our Patron Saint, Saint Maron. All his spiritual children including you and me and every member of our Parish of Our Lady of the Cedars Church including all our active and the not so active who are Maronites and all our friends could come together in February to pray the Divine Liturgy in his honor and then gather around the table in our beautiful Cedars Hall for a delicious family Lebanese meal and celebrate our gift of St. Maron. I want to invite you and all our Maronite Family from near and far to come home to Our Lady of the Cedars Church on Sunday February 4, 2018 for St. Maron s great Feast Day Home Coming Event. This very early announcement about the Feast of St. Maron and Home Coming is to allow you a good way to make a commitment to be here all together and I am counting on your help to contact and invite all family, friends and neighbors from near and far especially members who have become inactive to please come here and celebrate with us on February 4, At this time I want to invite you and everyone to come here for the Feast of St. Maron. 4 THANK YOU NOTE God bless all our Parish Family near and far. In this amazing thanksgiving time I want to say a loving thank you very much to all for another beautiful Annual Parish Family Thanksgiving Banquet served last Sunday. We all join together to express our thanks to our generous benefactor the Lababadi Family for providing the beautiful and traditional menu for the Thanksgiving feast once again. I especially wish to thank everyone who was able to come together this past Sunday. Thanks for coming and thank you very, very much for the generous contributions you made. This fund raiser is truly helpful to our parish treasury. The Lababidi family wants to thank and acknowledge all who helped them in all the cooking and preparations for our meal. Thanks to Fares Jasser, Chef Zouheir and Walid Kahwaji, Subdeacon Paul Boulos, Hanan Khoury, Violette Shamatta, Mary Beth Abraham, Deacon Rami. A royal thanks to Santa for his early visit with us and to the Ladies Guild for providing the bags of goodies for the children. The smiling faces on our children were golden. They made me smile for the rest of the day. I thank you all at this Thanksgiving time and all the time throughout the year GOD LOVE YOU THANK YOU BENEFACTORS OF THE FOOD DRIVE To everyone who contributed products to the annual food drive for Thanksgiving I thank you very much.
