2 Welcome to Worship at First Presbyterian Church Neenah, Wisconsin We are grateful for your presence and invite you to participate in the life and ministry of our congregation. If you are new to First Presbyterian, please identify yourself by wearing one of the red roses found in the hymnal rack. We ask all present today to sign and read the friendship pads as they are passed down each pew and returned to the center aisle. This is an opportunity for us to know and greet one another by name at the end of the service. We invite you to join us for coffee and conversation in the Church Parlor after the 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. services. The Coffee Hostess for today is Kathy Grinsel. Childcare (infants and toddlers through 2 years old) is available throughout Sunday morning (7:45 a.m. 10:45 a.m.) in the nursery located next to the Fellowship Hall. You are welcome to keep your infant or small child with you in church. If your infant or small child needs care or becomes uncomfortable during the service, you may leave and return as you wish. The audio portion of the 9:30 a.m. service can be heard in the Chapel where you and your child are also welcome. Children are invited to pick up a worship bag and a Bible as they enter the Chapel for the 8:00 a.m. or the Nave for the 9:30 a.m. worship service. Booster seats are also available for your child to use during worship. Please remember to return the worship bags to the stands, and the Bibles and the booster seats to the shelves when worship concludes. Worship Enrichment (ages 3 years old 1 st grade): Following the Children s Time during the 9:30 a.m. worship service, parents may, if they wish, take their children to Worship Enrichment, which is located in the preschool room, next to the library. Worship Enrichment offers time for children to learn stories, games, songs, and crafts based upon familiar Bible lessons. The Greeters are Deacon Carol Losse, who will be at the Doty Avenue entrance, and Elder Susan Morrissey, who will be in the Narthex. The Ushers at the 8:00 a.m. service are Liz and Steve Landig; and at the 9:30 a.m. service are Siv and Tim Galloway and David Struensee. We thank Elizabeth Mazurak, Margaret Burton, and Matt Schroeder for being our guest musicians for today s services. First Presbyterian has a hearing loop for hearing aid users equipped with T-coils. 9 Join us for a One Day Bus Trip to Door County on Wednesday, August 5 th as we head to Door County. Ride in comfort on a Kobussen Coach, which will depart Highlands at Mahler Park at 8:30 a.m. Our first stop, lunch at The Log Den in Egg Harbor. The Log Den is a meticulously detailed 10,000 square foot restaurant. You will love to spot the carvings of bears, eagles, buffalo, and fish throughout the Den. On the buffet: two types of homemade soups, deli meats, sliced cheeses, assorted breads, condiments, pasta salad, coleslaw, potato salad, veggies, brownies/cookies, and coffee, tea, and milk. After lunch, we will continue on to Fish Creek s Top of the Hill Shops for a leisurely hour-plus of shopping or just enjoying the park-like setting and Door County. All of the local shops will be open that day, including: European Imports, Fish Tales Trading, A Cut Above, Fish Creek Basketry, Door County Art League Gallery, and many more. Finally, we will make a stop at Whitefish Dunes State Park where you can stroll along Lake Michigan, use the boardwalk to discover the wetlands, or hike one of the many trails throughout the forested sand dunes and beech forest. The park s nature center features year-round programs, exhibits, and displays on ecology, geology, and human history. We will depart no later than 3:30 p.m. for Neenah. Total cost for the bus and lunch is $50.00 per person. Reserve your seat now by calling the Church Office ( ). Payment due by July 6 th. Make checks out to Debbie Griffith. Community Blood Drive: Unfortunately, due to the low number of donors, the Wednesday, July 15 th Blood Drive here at First Presbyterian Church has been cancelled. The Community Blood Center will contact those who signed up to donate with alternate giving locations. You may also contact the Community Blood Center ( ) with questions. Habitat for Humanity: Sign-up sheets for the First Presbyterian Church volunteer involvement in this year s Habitat build are located in the hallway outside the Church Office. Check the table to see what tasks are being done each day, select the ones you would like to do, and sign-up. Remember, you do not need experience as there will be skilled Habitat workers on-site. Spots fill quickly, so check out the worksheets as soon as you can!
