Joseph, Brentwood We, the Body of Christ of Resurrection Parish in Gerritsen Beach, Brooklyn, proclaim our service to God, our Church, and our Community.

Anointing of the Sick Anyone scheduled to enter the hospital or is sick should be anointed. The anointing of the sick is held every Saturday after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. Just ask the Priest and he will pray with you and administer the Sacrament of the Sick. Parish Membership Every parishioner should be formally registered with the parish. Likewise, parishioners are encouraged to use the Sunday collection envelopes. We invite you to register at the Rectory Monday - Friday from 9:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. or complete a registration form, found in Church, and drop off at the Rectory. Vocations Are you being called to the Priesthood or Religious Life? Speak with a Priest or Religious or contact the Vocation Office at or vocations@diobrook.org. Baptisms Usually, on the second Sunday of the month at 12:15 p.m. Parents wishing to have their child baptized must attend a class prior to the Baptism. Classes are usually held the first Saturday of the month at 10:30 a.m.. Please call the Rectory to register. Marriages Arrangements must be made with the Priest at least 6 months prior to the wedding. One party should be a parishioner. For information on pre-cana, visit Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) Instructions for non-catholic adults interested in becoming Catholics are held during the year. Instructions for Catholics who have not received the Sacraments of the Eucharist and Confirmation are also given. Anybody interested is asked to call Jim Giorgio at Devotions Miraculous Medal Novena, Rosary & Divine Mercy Chaplet recited after 8:30 a.m. Mass Mondays. Do I ignore all that God does to help me be a good disciple? Am I too busy to take time to pray or read the Bible? Do I hold onto grudges instead of forgiving and releasing them? Do I decline the invitations to go on a retreat? If any of these are true, I might be like the vineyard in the first reading, producing no fruit despite all the opportunities God has given me. Or we may be the other side of the coin. We had our children baptized when they were babies. We gave them as good an example as we could, teaching them to love others and be generous with what they have. Yet they grew up and drifted away from the faith. Then we have to remember how patient God is with us, God s people who don t always produce the fruits of faith. The tenants in the parable refer to those who would have Jesus crucified. God is patient with them. Look what happened to Saul, who persecuted many Christians before he became one himself. In our second reading he tells us to follow his example as he follows Christ. TO ALL EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS There are a small number of Eucharistic Ministers who have been committed to the ministry of visiting the sick at home and in The Chateau Nursing Home (formally Crown). They bring Our Lord Jesus Christ to the patients who cannot join us in the communal Celebration of the Mass. We are in desperate need of help, especially for the Nursing Home. In the Gospel of Matthew 25:40, Jesus says, Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.
